"We will be covering the basic methods of divination this year.' Drawled professor Trelawney from where she was perched near her glimmering crystal ball. 'The first term will be devoted to reading the tea leaves. Next term we shall move on to palmistry." The cooky eyed witch proceeded to hold up her hand and show the inside of her palm to the whole class.

"In the summer term,' professor Trelawney continued. 'We shall progress to the crystal ball—if we have finished with the fire omens, that is."

She looked around the room then, eyeing each student carefully before telling them to divide into pairs and collect a tea cup from the large shelf behind where they all sat.

Once everyone had a tea cup, the professor went around the room with a large pot and filled their cups with tea.

"Now, I want you all to drink the tea but,' she quickly warned with a wagging finger. 'Only drink until the dregs remain. Then you must swill these around the cup three times with the left hand, turn the cup upside down on its saucer; wait for the last of the tea to drain away and then give your cup to your partner to read." She finished while placing the large pot back on the rounded table next to her crystal ball.

Hermione and Neville had paired up after Neville had broken one of the tea cups. Leaving Hally and Ron to be partners.

The two friends quickly downed the scalding hot tea before swapping their cups and turning to pages five and six of 'Unfogging the Future'.

"What can you see in mine ?"

"A bunch of soggy brown stuff." Hally replied while trying to turn the cup a different way to see if that made a difference. It didn't. The strong perfume smell of the room was giving her a headache and making her feel slow and stupid.

"Oh bollocks Hally, you need your inner eye tested.' Ron chided while looking down into Hally's cup. 'I'll try to read yours now. There seems to be a blob that almost looks like a bowler hat. Maybe you're going to work for the ministry."

Ron furrowed his brows as he flipped the cup around, "although, now that I'm looking at it from a different angle it could be an acorn..."

Professor Trelawney interrupted Ron's failing attempt at trying to read the leaves and held out her hand for the cup before she started inspecting them.

After a few moments of looking at the tea leaves the divination professor let out a loud gasp that startled Neville into breaking his second cup.

Hally regarded the woman with widened eyes as her heart thudded painfully in her chest.

"My dear...you have the grim !" She cried out with theatrically widened eyes.
