"Oh man, I'm so hot, I'm gonna get some water." Carla told her group, her body looked weary, she'd returned to the dance floor hard, Thea thought it was because she wasn't sure when she'd get another chance.

"I've got you another drink." The cop said.

"Vodka baby? I need to rehydrate and then I'll enjoy it more." She kissed her lips quickly.

"You want me to go?"

"No, stay here, I'll go. Love you."

"So the 16th T?"

"Yep. I'll get Carla to come help to. Do you reckon we'll get the wallpaper off and paint in one day?" She directed her question to Rob.

"Probably. But we'll have to do at least two coats. Your gonna need to put up the cot too because I'm not doing it."

"Your not going to put up your first child's first bed?" Abi asked incredulously.

"Not after that kitchen table. Thea said it fell apart like a pack of cards."

"Only because they were fucking on it!" Abi said without thinking. Rob looked aghast and took the lemon slice out of his drink and threw it at his best friend.

"Does Carla tell you everything?" The cop  asked Abi, picking the lemon off her jacket and throwing it on the table.

"You told me it just fell apart!"

"It did, I just forgot to mention that we were on top of it at the time."

"You forgot to mention that huh?"

"I'm sorry Rob." She spluttered as she laughed with his wife.

"T-"

"No seriously, I shouldn't have let you think it was your fault."

"No T- the bar."

Her eyes flew to where he was looking and the anger boiled up inside her. Some twat had his hands on Carla's arm and although she was trying to back away, he wasn't letting go. The cops both stood at the same time while the dentist stayed where she was. She knew the drill and was also confident they wouldn't let it escalate too much.

"Get your fucking hands off her." Thea boomed, suddenly stood at her wife's side.

"Oh chill out, I'm just trying to buy her a drink." The obviously inebriated guy protested. Thea looked him up and down, despite his dishevelled appearance his clothes were designer, he was clearly well off, probably a city finance worker and in Thea's experience, an entitled twat.

"Do you want a drink off this guy?" Thea asked her wife genuinely.

"No!" Carla's facial expression was one of disgust and apprehension.

"She doesn't want your drink so let her go."

"Or what?"

Thea smiled, looked at Rob and then her wife, she could feel this guy watching her and as soon as his eyes moved back to Carla, the cop kicked his legs out behind him causing him to let go of her wife. She grabbed his arm and pinned it behind his back, pushing his head onto the bar.

"Or I'll put your head through the fucking wall!" She hissed at him loudly over the music.
"I'm out with friends tonight and I'd really like to enjoy my evening so today you get a choice, you can sit over there and continue to drink yourself into an early grave, keeping your fucking dirty hands to yourself, or me and my friend here can take you down to the station and arrest you for assault and intimidation? What's it going to be?"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He spluttered, spit flying all over the bar as she continued to hold his head against the sticky wood.

"Is that option one?" She twisted his arm behind his back just that little bit more.
