Surprise

The afternoon meeting dragged, Thea's mind kept zoning out and she had given up struggling to retain the mass of information being thrown at her.

Her boss was stood at the front of the meeting room going through intel from her informant. It hadn't been verified but she was attempting to organise raids at various locations to lessen the element of surprise. No one apart from Ruth knew who her informant was and Thea had to hand it to her, she protected her sources with her life.

She'd mentally distanced herself from the case since she'd met Carla, she didn't want to be involved. Trying to understand her feelings and emotions passed the time of her usually demanding job, she was still being punished with paperwork and filing so it didn't matter and Carla was worth it.

Although it terrified her, she'd made a real effort to give the younger woman what she wanted and get to know each other before anything else. The more she found out though, the more obsessed with her she became.

They'd been texting and calling each other  everyday since their date, Carla was falling for Thea's compassion and Thea was in awe of her kindness. Through all this mutual respect was a strong undercurrent of sexual tension. The cop was trying to respect Carla's wishes but when the conversations became flirtier, so did her imagination.

Last night she had video called her from her bed, holding the phone above her and Thea nearly passed out at the sight of her lying there. She wore a white shirt, buttoned in the middle but showed an impressive amount of cleavage.

The tall girl had zoned out and watched her absentmindedly trail a finger over her collarbone and down between her breasts, she gulped loudly and licked her lips.

C: Baby are you listening to me?

T: Yuh huh.

C: What did I just say?

T: I heard 'fuck me.'

C: Ha! You should be so lucky. Goodnight baby.

She didn't mind her evasion, the image of her led on that bed, her wild long hair and the natural beauty of her face was burnt into Thea's conscious, appearing at the most unfortunate times. Especially during downtime at work.

"Thea, a word."

Her pulse quickened at her name, she was finally being given a task that didn't require intricate knowledge of the alphabet. Following Ruth to her office she felt an object hit the back of her head, turning back around she saw Rob looking quizzically at her before she shut the door.

"Sit down. Your not in trouble but you have to be honest. Do you understand?"'

"Yes ma'am." She didn't like the sound of this.

"Carla Romano, 20 years of age, no priors, no gang affiliations, yes? Do you know anything to contradict what I've just said?"

"No Ma'am. What's this about?"

"Have you met up with this girl since the video?"

Thea shifted uncomfortably in her seat, she had to be honest but it didn't make it any easier.

"Yes ma'am, we are, we've been hanging out but she was cleared."

"Define hanging out." She sat in the chair with her brow furrowed and her arms crossed, purposely intimidating Thea who could be difficult to manage at times.

"I'm sorry ma'am but I don't see how this is any of your business."

"Have you met her mother and father?"
