"Come on, stop those tears, your safe now. Let's get you up out of the chair."

Carla shook her head whilst sobbing, her whole body trembling as her ex guided her to stand. Thea took the opportunity to use her good leg and force herself closer to them, sliding across the dirty floor in her own sticky, warm blood.

"You made a deal with the NCA. I know you gave someone up, you won't last long. Especially not now you'll have the Irish after you too."

"My chances look better than yours right now." She sneered at her, holding a petrified Carla in her arms.

"Your gonna put her in the middle of that? Do you even love her or can you just not bear the thought of anyone else with her? The thought that she might want someone else?"

"She was always meant to be with me!" Elena shouted furiously. "She was meant to be my happy ending once your lot put my husband inside but you! You fucked it all up and now look where we are, she's back with me and your dying!"

"What fucking planet are you on? She's not back with you! She didn't love you then, you think she's going to love you now? Now you've shot her brother and her wife?"

Elena let go of Carla's shoulders to viciously kick Thea in the stomach, her loud groans of pain echoed around the walls and something about the sound snapped Carla out of it. The fear and the confused fog that covered her brain and body suddenly lifted.

"She was everything to me and you took her! Convinced her she was only safe with you, I could have kept her safe! You gave her no choice."

"Aarrrghh! Fuck!" Thea screamed as the designer boot kicked into her stomach again and again.

"Stop! Just fucking stop it! Please!" Carla shrieked.

Elena composed herself, straightened her clothing and knelt next to the cops head. Thea couldn't move, she couldn't even scream out in pain anymore, it took everything she had to just keep breathing.

"I'm gonna think about you dying here when I'm in bed with her later and she's dripping down my chin. Fuck, she tastes like milk and honey, doesn't she?" She whispered in her ear.

"Over my dead body." The cop gasped.

"That's the plan." Elena stood with a grin, kicking Thea's very pale face, not hard but just enough to take the wind out of her again.

"No." Carla looked Elena dead in the eye as she stood trembling.

"Shhh, don't worry baby." She left the injured woman on the floor and walked over to Carla. Making sure the cop was watching, Elena kissed the young woman's lips and hugged her, the criminal had her back to the cop and Carla's eyes shot to Thea's while she was cuddled. The cops stare purposefully flew to her left leg that she shook to get her wife's attention. She managed to pull her trouser leg up a little bit and relaxed when she saw understanding in Carla's eyes. Thea couldn't do anymore, it was up to her wife now.

"I don't know..." Carla began.

"Shhh, you don't have to do anything. It's all going to be ok. I was cross Carla, real cross you wouldn't return my calls and ran off with this twat but that's what they do. That's her job, they insert themselves into your life and cling on. It's not your fault and I knew you wouldn't grass because you didn't know anything. I was always going to leave him for you but you wouldn't listen. The timing had to be right but your young and impatient... I forgive you. Now, we've got a boat to catch, I'll finish this here. Why don't you go outside? You don't want to see this."

Carla nodded and for a brief second, Thea thought she'd lost her but when Elena turned back toward the injured woman, her wife pulled the gun from her blood soaked ankle holster and held it in front of her, exactly the way she'd been taught.
