January, 1995.

Joey woke up genuinely content.

The following morning, she woke up and she was well-rested. Her eyes had opened by themselves and she didn't feel that heavy sleepiness weighing her eyes or her mind.

She had an amazing night's sleep. She was laying on her stomach, one arm under the pillow and the other draped off the bed.

They'd somehow shifted more to her side of the bed and she was sleeping on top of one of his arms. Draco was on his back and his head was turned away from her. The arm that wasn't underneath her was splayed out across the pillows next to him.

Joey lay there for a few moments before she hauled herself up into a sitting position, legs draped over the edge of the mattress. She twisted her body and stretched, hearing her joints pop.

Her hands went to her eyes, rubbing the sleep away, before she combed her fingers through the roots of her hair to brush the strands out of her face. Sliding off the bed, she quietly walked to the bathroom and flicked the light on.

First thing she did was go pee. She always peed in the mornings. She stood in front of the sink to wash her hands. Through the mirror, she saw Draco's jersey was hanging crookedly on her body, exposing her left shoulder.

Her arm stretched out to grab a hair-tie from the counter. After tossing her hair in a messy low bun, she grabbed her toothbrush from the black cup by the sink and began to brush her teeth.

Shortly after, Draco walked into the bathroom with his messy bedhead, bleary-eyed and groggy, yet still so irresistibly gorgeous. She faltered for a moment during her doings at the simple sight of him.

This was the first time she was ever seeing him in the morning and, gosh, was it a sight.

The way he had walked in scratching the back of his head with his lips pressed in a lazy line. His sweatpants hung lazily on his hips, exposing his V-line and boxer waistband. The platinum hair on his head was untidy and the sleepiness that roughened his features was so attractive.

He kissed the side of her head just as he reached for his toothbrush, walking behind her to stand next to her on the other side. She couldn't help but just stare at his toned abs and the way every muscle in his upper arm flexed during his actions.

A line of drool mixed with toothpaste foam sliding down the corner of her mouth was what ripped her from her trance. She wiped it with the side of her finger and resumed brushing her teeth.

He squirted toothpaste along the bristles of his toothbrush and wet it beneath the water at the faucet. "How'd you sleep?" he asked in a low, raspy voice that was laced with sleep before he put the toothbrush in his mouth.

She held up a thumbs up because she really did sleep so well next to him. Then she pointed at him with her thumb. He copied her and did a thumbs up in amusement.

His toothbrush hung from his lips as his hands gripped her by her waist and lifted her onto the marble counter. He stood between her thighs, head turned to stare at his drowsy self in the mirror. He ran a hand through his bedhead, brushing it all back and away from his eyes.

Joey brushed her teeth and stared at him as well. In adoration.

With the hand she wasn't using to brush her teeth, she reached out for the ring hanging on his silver chain. Her ring. She just eyed it pleasantly. She had a boyfriend and that boyfriend was Draco Malfoy. Her first morning with having an actual boyfriend. She quite liked it.

Draco's stormy eyes dragged toward her face and just like she had done to him, he drank her in with his eyes. Praised her. Studied her. Memorized her.

His gaze dropped lower to her collarbone and her shoulders and neck. He had his free hand planted on the counter next to her thigh, head tilted to the side. He still didn't move to touch her. He was just using his eyes. The severity of his stare was enough to make her feel rather demure and squirmy.
