Cousins grew up fighting like siblings
Then grew apart
Go to different schools
As we got older
You got sick
I'm just a year younger age wise
Graduation same year
You should have gotten to enjoy senior year
I got to play our favorite sport
While you only got five minutes
Your health took it away
I felt extremely guilty
Getting to play
The extreme guilt after you were gone too
The many experiences I have gotten in life
While I know you're six feet under
There is days it's hard for me
I get to enjoy life and appreciate it more
I'm eight years older than you now
While you stay forever nineteen
I wonder if you ever would of have had a career you enjoy
A wife
Create a family
Or even explore the world
This was your written story for this lifetime
But the guilt lingers years later
Grief isn't as painful
But it lingers
