Joong sighed the moment he woke up. All his dreams were of Dunk taking the bullet for him and collapsing in his arms. He didn't have a good night sleep at all. He freshen up and went down for breakfast. 

His bodyguard, P'Meen had informed him that his brother Khaotung and Pond had gone to visit Dunk. He nodded. He wondered what should he bring when he visits Dunk. He had never paid attention to what he liked in the few months that they've been together. He had vague memory of Dunk munching on strawberries like a rabbit. He had gotten a box of white strawberries for him. He sighed when he reached the door to Dunk's ward. The door was left slightly ajar. He was about to go in when he heard Dunk, Pond and Khaotung talking. 

"I'm sorry, Dunk. If I had checked more thoroughly, you wouldn't have been hurt." Pond apologized.

"Not your fault, Pond. You were also busy with what I've asked to look up on. Is that done?" 

"Yes, we found it." Dunk nodded to Pond's answer but he was still deep in thought. Something just didn't feel right.

" There could be a breach in your security team though. You may need to work on that. See if anyone went rogue. Did alpha call off the bodyguards that day? there was none wi-"  

"Hey, you are on the hospital bed with 5 bullet holes and god knows how many wounds. You should be resting. Why are you still worried about hia? That jerk is the reason why you are here. You have already stated from the beginning that you don't work on Wednesdays and Saturdays but he forced you to. I know he could very well postpone the meeting. If he did, Pond would have been able to check things thoroughly than to leave it to someone else. It was too much of a rush. What more that you were already hurt when you protected me before we went to the meeting. I'm sure hia was scolding you in his head for arriving late." Dunk chuckled before he winced from the pain.

"I don't think that's the only time he cursed me, phi. I could probably be earning billions from how many times he cursed me since the day he met me." Dunk reminded Khaotung. It was true. He did curse Dunk a lot. He never thought that so much had went down before they came and met him. 

"Khun Aydin, don't you want to go in?" Phuwin asked when he saw Joong at the door. Joong was shocked by his presence behind him. In the end, Joong shook his head and asked him to pass the box of strawberries to Dunk. 

"Khun Aydin." Joong stopped when Phuwin called him. 

"Just to let you know, Dunk had been having a lot of "accidents" since your public announcement. I've only just found out recently." Phuwin went in after that statement. 

What more was Dunk hiding?

Pond passed him the mermaid's tears that had been missing when they were back in his home office. 

"Dunk had asked me to do a little digging and we found who had it. I've eliminated them." Pond reported. 

"Has Dunk ever told you that he had been having a lot of "accidents"?" Pond shook his head but informed him of what Phuwin had told him. 

"I think we need to arrange a few bodyguards for Dunk." Pond nodded. 

"Joong." Joong looked up when Pond called him.

"Could you be a little kinder to Dunk? He's been through a lot." Joong nodded awkwardly.

Joong had not contacted Dunk since the incident. He drown himself in his work to avoid the guilt he felt within him. It was only a month later that Dunk appeared at the clan house.

"I'm back, love. Do you miss me?" He gave him a sniff kiss and took the cup of coffee out of his hand. 

"Aaahh... you still make the best coffee, P'Gun." He gave P'Gun a wink as he downed the cup of coffee. Joong sighed. 

"Dunk, you are back!" Khaotung gave him a hug. 

"Phi, they finally let me free!!" 

"Let's celebrate!" Dunk nodded at Khaotung's suggestion. Pond agreed as well.

Joong wondered how he got dragged into this. The four of them were in a private VIP room of the bar that Khaotung frequent. Dunk had already downed a few shots and was a little tipsy before Pond suggested karaoke. Dunk was hunting for the song at the tiny stage. 

"Hia, I really do think Dunk is the right person as your future luna, if you would just let him in." Joong sighed at what Khaotung said. Khaotung continued his little rant before Joong could say a word.

"Relax a little, be a little less uptight. The sunshine is just right in front of you, if you allow it in." Joong frowned at what Khaotung said but he didn't get the chance to respond when Dunk started to sing his heart out. 

The song did have some parallel to them.

He did have a preconception of him after their first encounter. His obnoxious actions and relentless teasing annoyed him to no end. There was a sudden realization after the recent incident that he truly didn't know Dunk at all.  

"Khorp khun krap (thank you)" Dunk bowed when he was done. Pond and Khaotung cheered. He staggered to Joong before he fell into his embrace. He really was too drunk. Joong sighed when he heard him still mumbling the lyrics. One verse caught his attention:

sarup wah chan nan du mai di tang ti ter mai du

so you think I'm a bad guy, though you haven't really looked

por tah hai ter dai du ter gor dan ru di

so I dare you to look and you'll know full well

Who are you really, Dunk Natachai?

A/N: The lyric might a little different from the YT link. I've looked through a few of the translation but this translation was the closest to the narrative that I want but the audio quality wasn't that good. This 1 was the best I found so there's why there's some inconsistency. 

I didn't include Dunk's pic since First was in it... Nope First isn't in the picture yet. Will he ever be in the series? Khaotung is in so yea, he'll be here at one point🤭🤭
