Chapter Eleven: Broken Deal

  The cave, the very same one that the Being first encountered someone. The cave that was near Grian's base. They prefer to gather everyone there if it's something important, like a meeting or a mission they have for their slaves.

  The Being sighed, they knew what they were going to do, they knew that the deal would probably not stand, but they had other methods to get information. The Being had other helpers, they had other spies, they could do without the deal.

  "Take out Etho and BDubs," the Being stated, addressing four hermits. Mumbo, Doc, Impulse, and Grian.

  There was something off, though. The first three immediately bowed to show that they understood and would complete the task, but Grian.. he just stood there for a moment with wide eyes—not lime eyes, though.

  Pretend.. Awful timing, Grian thought to himself as he squeezed his eyes shut and bowed along with his corrupted friends.

Of course he'd escape eventually, the Being thought, Watchers are so annoying. They crossed their arms.

"You're dismissed." The Being commanded. The four Hermits complied, Grian leading the way out of the cave, his eyes focused on the rough floor.

The Being turned to two other Hermits, "You two take out Grian."

Iskall and Gem briefly glanced at each other with lime coloured eyes before they bowed, "Understood." Gem said. They exited the cave together, set out to find where Grian had gone.

"Etho, BDubs!" Grian shouted, rushing towards the Listeners. He startled them, they were trying to catch up by going on a walk together. Grian stopped a bit away from them, "The Being is after you guys! I was able to escape it's control while it was saying that.." Grian confessed, worry for his friends clear on his face.

BDubs caught movement in his peripheral vision and he quickly shoved Etho forward, "Etho, watch out!" He shouted, getting hit above his ear by a rock moments later. He felt dizzy, and blood seeped into and around his ear.

"You okay, Etho?" BDubs asked, looking down at where his friend had fallen when he pushed him. His friends stared at him with wide eyes, BDubs only looking concerned.

"BDubs, you're bleeding," Grian told him.

"I'm okay, I promise." BDubs responded with a reassuring smile. He glanced behind him, but the movement he saw before was gone.

"Don't do that ever again!" Etho scolded, standing back up and looking at his friend.

Grian took a deep breath and looked to his Listener friends, "We need to hide." He decided, crossing his arms. Etho nodded to show his agreement, he was studying BDubs' injury, judging how he would treat it.

"Yeah.." BDubs replied to show his agreement. He looked behind him again, thinking he saw some yellow and green, or a bit of ginger hair, but it went away before he could dwell too much on it.

THEY DIDN'T-

HIDE FAST ENOUGH

He entered a field, searching for Etho and BDubs, because he knew that they were who the Entity would be after next. He quickly stopped walking however when he saw blood seeping into the grass in front of him.

He stared in horror at the bodies of his friends just lying there.

BDubs lay motionless, he was bleeding from his head and blood leaked from his mouth. BDubs' shirt was smeared with blood, and tears stained his face, mixing in with the blood from his head injury.

Grian was there too, his wings looked injured, and they were draped over him protectively. He also had a head injury and a cut across his cheek. He looked so peaceful, besides the blood staining him of course.

Etho looked as if he was reaching out to his friends, one of his arms outstretched while the other was crushed under himself. It looked as if someone cut across his face—specifically his eye. Blood stained around his mouth and a bit of his white hair—including some of his drooped ears.

The man in grey didn't know what happened, but he was furious. And afraid, he was absolutely horrified by what happened to some of his most powerful friends. He wiped away a forming tear and clenched his teeth.

"Deal Breaker!"

Sorry for the late and short chapter! Soon I'll release another hopefully, it'll be about what happened specifically to Grian, Etho and BDubs. Hope you enjoyed!
