He wanted it back. Zedaph missed the times before the "Being" found its way onto Hermitcraft.

He missed exploring, curiously questioning his friends, making mini-games, and just talking to them as if life couldn't ever go wrong.

Zedaph missed hanging out with Doc. He missed watching the creeper hybrid when he thought he was all alone. Zedaph missed seeing Doc admire the trees and he missed seeing Doc's excitement when one of his projects worked.

But Doc was under the Being's control, along with Iskall and Mumbo and Gem and Impulse..

And Zedaph was stuck in his new reality. Just wandering the emptier parts of X's base and crying to himself when emotions became too much to handle.

Sometimes he wondered what Impulse was doing, or how Doc was. But that just made Zedaph miss his friends more.

He's seen Xisuma pace through the halls of his base and walk out to think in caves, Scar would always follow after long to make sure the admin was okay.

And if Scar didn't notice, Zedaph would tell him and Scar would be off to help.

Scar was one of the few people that remained kind to Zedaph, along with X and Tango. He appreciated Scar's random treats and babysitting requests.

When Scar left Jellie with Zedaph it occupied him, so he had less time to overthink about his decisions and how his friends were doing.

For that he'll always be grateful to Scar.

And Tango, he would always check in and hang out if the goat hybrid needed company that was better than a cat.

Xisuma made sure other Hermits didn't treat Zedaph too harshly. When Ren would start to get snappy, X would always be there to distract the dog hybrid and calm him down.

Xisuma usually would send Ren away to complete a task, because the dog hybrid liked helping the others. Whether the task was to help Cub and Pearl with their studies and potions, or to help Scar make his cookies.

Ren always huffed but went off to complete the task.

And Zedaph was glad to have such amazing friends like Xisuma, Tango, and Scar.

Grian looked out the small window in his library. It was one of two windows in Grian's "secret base." It provided natural light to a table in the library.

Grian had it so that he didn't need to waste a lantern or candle during the day time. And so that he'd have a sense of knowing when it was daytime.

The base was created so that Grian could hide away for a while without going outside after all. But, BDubs' clocks solved the time problem. Etho took one and carried it around while he explored Grian's "bunker."

Meanwhile, Grian read as much as he could to find out who—well, more like what—the Being was. He either read in the library or in the room BDubs was sleeping in.

Etho and Grian took turns watching him, neither wanting to leave him alone.

Etho sat on the bed he had been unconscious in a few days ago, Grian rambling to him about the little information he found that might be connected to the Being.

BDubs had woken up twice, but both times he was half asleep and simply moved where he was sleeping to go back asleep. It was a bit frustrating that he remained insistent to stay asleep, but Etho was still glad that he was resting.

"..it obviously must have some connection to the Watchers or Listeners, because its type of magic reminds me of theirs," Etho tuned back into what Grian was saying when he heard "Watchers."

"You think so? But what could the connection be?" Etho interrupted Grian to ask.

The shorter Hermit got quiet as he thought over Etho's question.

BDubs blinked a few times and sat up from his bed, finally deciding he had enough energy to deal with the outside world. "What're you talking about?" He asked.

Etho glanced behind him, but Grian spoke before he could reply. "Morning Sleeping Beauty, nice of you to join us in the land of the living."

"Shush," BDubs rolled his eyes and yawned, "I asked a simple question.." he mumbled.

"Grian was telling me that he thinks the Being is connected to the Watchers or the Listeners," Etho supplied.

"Awh, I was gonna make him guess," Grian pouted and swung his legs off of the bed.

"Okay, back to serious stuff. BDubs, you're doing alright now, right?" Grian said and stood.

BDubs nodded and crawled off his comfortable bed too. "Yeah, I'm well rested." He pulled gently at the collar of his shirt.

"Good. 'Cause after I do more research, which might take a few more days, we're gonna leave and try to get rid of the Being," Grian told BDubs and took a deep breath before finishing.

"For good."
