Nobody's POV

Karen was running for her life. Every step was frantic, desperate, pounding against the cold pavement. Drew's heavy boots thundered behind her, along with the sharp shouts of his men. The city lights blurred as panic flooded her veins.

She could feel Drew closing the gap. His presence was like a shadow swallowing her whole. Her breath hitched, her heart pounding so loud it felt like it would burst out of her chest.

And then — just like that — his rough hands grabbed her arms.

Her world narrowed down to the cold steel of his grip and the fury burning in his eyes.

His men circled around, grabbing her, hauling her back toward the darkness she'd tried so hard to escape.

Drew's POV

I had Karen back. Her eyes were wide with fear, and her whole body trembled like she wanted to run again.

But I didn't care.

We weren't leaving.

Not tonight.

Back at the house, I ordered my men to bring her straight to our room.

I followed, watching as she flinched at every movement, every step.

I hated that she was scared of me, but I knew I was the reason.

I walked into the room, ready to calm her, to hold her — but the moment I reached out, she jumped away.

That only made my blood boil.

I told her to wash up. She needed to be clean before her punishment.

What she didn't know was that her punishment was already waiting.

Karen's POV

I washed away the grime of running, scrubbing until my skin burned.

Thirty long minutes later, I stepped out, feeling exposed and trembling.

I put on the clothes Drew had left for me — tight, dark, uncomfortable.

I looked down at my hands, wishing I could disappear.

When he called me over, my heart slammed against my ribs.

I hesitated.

But I went to him.

He wrapped his big, strong hands around my waist and squeezed tight.

"Be ready," he whispered.

The words sent a chill straight through me.

I was terrified of what was coming.

Drew's POV

After pulling her close, I bent her over the bed.

Before I could even begin, she started to cry.

I didn't care.

I tied her hands and feet tight to the bedposts.

Her eyes pleaded, wide with terror.

But she had crossed the line.

I grabbed my belt and brought it down hard across her ass.

The red welts blossomed quickly as she screamed and cried, begging me to stop.

I hissed, "You tried to leave me again, didn't you?"

When she stayed silent, I struck harder.

"Say it! You're never leaving me again! Do you hear me?"

Through tears, she whispered, "Yes..."

I kept going for another five brutal minutes.

When I finally stopped, I untied her hands and feet.

She buried her face in her hands, silent sobs wracking her body.

I went to comfort her.

But she pushed me away.

That angered me more than anything.

Still, I did nothing.

I left the room to cool off.
