Nobody's POV
The Clark family approached the table where Drew and Karen sat. All the sisters locked eyes with their baby sister, their expressions a mixture of concern and unspoken questions. Jacky was the first to speak, her voice steady but edged with worry. "Karen, what's going on?"

Karen forced a small smile, trying to keep the peace. "Nothing. Just eating."

But Drew noticed the way they kept staring, the way their questions hung in the air without being said. His jaw tightened, and anger simmered beneath his calm exterior. This was supposed to be his time — just him and Karen — to build something real, away from prying eyes. And now her family was ruining it.

Drew's POV
I was mad. This was supposed to be about me and Karen—spending time, getting closer. But her family had the nerve to barge in like they owned the place, questioning, judging.

I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up, my chair scraping loudly against the floor. I grabbed Karen's hand firmly, no hesitation.

"Come on," I said sharply.

She tried to pull away. "I can walk," she said, panic flashing in her eyes.

I gave her a cold, angry glare — one that silenced her instantly.

"No," I said. "You're coming with me."

Karen's POV
Before I could even understand what was happening, Drew snatched me up from my seat. His grip was iron, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't break free.

"I can walk!" I insisted, struggling to get out of his grasp.

But then I caught the look in his eyes — dark, furious, possessive. That look that always told me to stop fighting or face the consequences.

Fear exploded inside me. My heart pounded, my breath quickened.

We got to the car, and as he sped through the streets, I begged him to slow down.

He snapped at me, his voice cold and sharp. "I'm driving how I want."

I stopped talking after that. The last thing I wanted was to set him off even more.

Nobody's POV
When they finally arrived at the Sheard estate, Drew's grip tightened again as he pulled Karen inside.

"This was supposed to be our moment," he growled. "Your family ruined it."

Karen tried to soothe him. "I know they did, but you need to calm down. We can go out later — just the two of us."

For a moment, Drew's anger softened.

"Okay," he said quietly.

Then Karen asked cautiously, "Can you take me home after?"

"No," Drew snapped. "You're staying here. Whether you like it or not."

Karen's eyes widened. "But I want to go."

Drew's voice rose, full of rage and possession. "You belong to me. You stay here. End of discussion."

Karen's POV
His words hit me like a punch to the stomach. I felt the walls closing in, the heavy weight of his control pressing down on me.

I wanted to scream, to fight back, but my voice caught in my throat.

Deep down, fear curled around my heart like a cold shadow.

I was trapped — at least for now — and I wasn't sure how much longer I could hold onto the hope that things could ever be different.
