'But Melvin.' Arjun started. 'What are you doing here actually, today? You are a workaholic. Then how come you took a day off.'
'I didn't.' Melvin replied. 'I just took a break for a few hours.'
'a break for a few hours.' Arjun repeated. 'Did I get ear damage or are you hiding something.'
'As a matter of fact.' Mahesh said interrupting.
'Yes,' Melvin answered. 'We want to talk to both of you on a very important matter.' He said turning to Shannon and Arjun.
'What happened, Dad.' Shannon asked, starting to feel that there was some serious reason behind her parents' sudden appearance in Light.
'We will explain you everything.' Melvin said. 'But first, both of you settle down.'
After both of them sat down. Mahesh began, 'There are certain things you do not know about yourself, Shannon. Certain things happened fifteen years ago. Two years before you both were born.
Shannon, you must have heard something about Dark's and Light's fight.'
'Yes, dad.' Shannon replied she knew by then that Arjun's theory was true and her parents were going to tell her the same. She didn't want to believe it was true. Her life was a lie. She was living in a world where her challenges were hidden. Inside her mind, she was screaming out. 'No, No, No- this can't be true. It can't be. I can't be. how can I be.'
With the truth coming to light, an overwhelming set of emotions consumed her inside. And with an outward anger, she answered 'I have heard a lot. A prophecy no one has heard, A royal dragon, volt, Veronica, murders, and disappearances. A really good story for a storybook.'
'For a storybook.' Smitha asked.
'Shannon does not believe in the existence of the prophecy.' Arjun explained.
Mahesh was shocked but as the truth sank in, he replied. 'So, even after visualizing, Volt capturing your friends. You do not believe it.'
'How did you know that.' Shannon asked calmly. Her father had taken the lid off about the people Mrs. Winson was referring to. On the day of the event, when she told Arjun to call Melvin and inform him to talk about the incident to the required people. She meant her parents.
'Told you there is something we need to talk about.'
'What is it, you need to talk about.'
'Two years before you were born. A fight was there between Darks and Lights. At the ending time of the war. Veronica and Volt both tried to use the royal dragons. But they refused to work with her and she killed them hence.
But before dying they made a prophecy. The dragons didn't say it aloud. But they told her, there is someone who is going to destroy the wrongdoer of humanity and after this, they all died.
Now, there used to be a commander in Erin who had a special bond or you can say a blessing gift or power to hear everything the royal dragon's troop leader said inside his mind. Hence, he knew the prophecy. So, Veronica went after him. He didn't tell the prophecy to anyone but he told his son about who it is related to. He was-
'So, this is how my grandfather died. At Veronica's hands. So, this story is true.' Shannon uttered before she could stop herself.
'Shannon, how do you know about this.' Smitha asked.
'Maa, you are not going to tell me, we stayed on earth to hide me. And dad you gave up your position as protector. All this time we were living on earth to save my life.'
