<Alright, so this should be the last part of this and then things will start to get more active, and I'll be getting into more of the things around the kingdoms that actually help in making people Level and get stronger. Though that will be something that come up randomly as I go along (since nothing I write is usually planned out) as each Kingdom will have a certain type of dungeon that is pretty much the staple of their area.
I also want to find a way of getting Sc'the to me more comfortable in public area without fear of accidentally killing someone due to his claws and spines, and I have a few idea about that as well, but what happens will happen how it happens :/>
(Unedited)It turned out, everyone was already in the dining hall waiting in chairs with their names attached to the backs of them. It was something that Hyc'antie did for everyone that came. Whether a kid was at the orphanage for only a few months before getting picked up by a family, or if they were one of the unlucky ones that stayed for years--like me--they still got a name magically engraved onto the back of a chair.
...It also helped to make sure no one could steal another kids' seat and cause more trouble than it was of handling so many unruly kids, but usually if someone wanted another spot they'd just come early to change around the chairs and make sure they were in said spot right as or before everyone else was in the dining hall.
A few of the kids had actually moved my chair around like this. It was something that didn't bother me at the time because I didn't believe that I would be staying long, and it didn't matter whether I was on the very edge of everyone, or in the middle between another few kids I didn't know. Sometimes Hyc'antie would intervene and make some of the kids go back to their original seating, but most times she let it go and most times it was seen as a kind of game to everyone.
I stepped into the dining hall and every kid's eyes--along with Freija and Wreign--all looked at me. The two were sat at the opposite end of the table, not too far from everyone, but close enough to be heard should they want to be. Freija motioned over to her, at a seat next to them, but still a decent distance from the other kids. I went over and saw a name engraved on the back of the chair: my name...
I went over, grabbed the chair pulled it out, and grabbed another empty named one next to us and sat in that. I could see that Freija and Wreign were a bit torn on how to act to that, and Hyc'antie's eyes dimmed slightly, but she distracted everyone by raising a glass and tapping it with a spoon a few times.
"Attention here please. As you all can see we have three very special guests here tonight" She looked at the three of us with a smile, "Say hello to Red, Freija, and Wreign. All of them formerly displaced children like yourselves, and in such a short time they've grown past the first tier in leveling." Almost half of the entire gathering's attention snapped to the three of us in awe, the rest were indifferent, or had a look of non-interest, but there was a gleam of admiration that could be seen in the depths of their depression. "Now Freija and Wreign weren't luck enough to be taken in by a family, as I'm sure most of you here are worried about, but they didn't let that change them and instead directed that drive and rage towards leveling to be at their prospective levels of over one-hundred fifty each!
"I am thankful for being one of the few people told about such an accomplishment so openly, and it is partially thanks to them that all of you are able to have so many things unlike in previous years. They've been donating almost half of their pay to this orphanage, and the other three around the city to "try and make a difference and support those in similar positions as they once were," in their words." Hyc'antie stopped for a moment, smiling at the two and bowed towards them both deeply. "They have my deepest gratitude and respect for how much they've devoted to you all, and that's why after lunch there is going to be a big celebration in the South Yard as a thank you to them both and they have both planned to show off some of their Skills tonight after we all play a game of Red's own invention..."
