(Picking up where it was previously (First Days of Redline's Two Embarrassing Days)It didn't take much longer for the other three to finish cooking, but it certainly felt like forever. I waited impatiently as the last minute ticked by and finally it turned 20:77pm and he reappeared in the training basement with the three carcasses floating behind him. I didn't even wait for him to set them all down and straight up tackled one straight out of the air. I swear I hoped I would never get used to the uniqueness the spices they used here, it would be such a shame when eating such a treat would become a norm.
It took me a half hour* to eat the three of them, and thankfully Pops waited patiently for me to finish. "If you were any older I would keep you from eating just to level up your (Hunger Resistance), but since you are only a few days old it would most likely negatively impact your growth physically. No matter how unlimited your stamina seems to be it is still most likely a separate factor when compared to your physical growth." I pretended not to hear him: not being able to eat this...this heavenly meat because you wanted to train my (Hunger Resistance) was a crime.
He was silent for most of the time I ate, only speaking up when I was halfway through the last carcass. "Since you are almost done, and most likely listening to me now. I'll explain the rest of what I want to have you doing for the next few days so I can get a proper gauge on your abilities." He paused, "I'm sure that you will have a different style to follow when you go to the Dragon Empire so I'll be just letting you figure out your own style of fighting for now, and pointing out things as they come.
"First I am going to have you going through all the motions I had Redline go through: running around the property until you show fatigue, then I'll be testing your physical stats and how much damage you can inflict and bear against. That will likely take the rest of the night, so tomorrow I'll be testing how much magic you have and how powerful of spells you can use as well as how many, if possible. Unless you are able to work through the night, which will give you fatigue resistance, as I'm sure you don't have that currently...though, in hindsight you might not get that at all from what I've seen of your stamina."
That all sounded pretty normal...I felt like he was keeping a few things from me regarding the running and the durability training but it couldn't be that bad...right? He snapped a finger and what I had skipped over eating--mostly the fats and cartilage--turned to dust under me and he turned on his heel and started to walk towards the stairs. I followed after him, careful not to be too close, but also not too far lest he get mad at me.
"I'm also going to have to do something about those claws of yours..." I heard him whispering under his breath but whatever he was thinking didn't really bother me--as long as I was still able to use my claws in a natural fashion I wasn't all too worried about having something to cover the more dangerous part of them...
We went from the front of the house to the edge of the yard, just behind the East wall and he stopped when we were right under it. "Alright, now I want you to run along this wall, around the entirety of this property until you get tired, and when you do...I want you to keep running." I tilted my head at him, he did this for Redline too? What a militaristic style of training...My attention was brought to the walls: they were a mix of stone and metal, with the metal sort of sticking out of the stone at places and I was sure that there were probably beams of it all throughout the structure.
"What are you standing there for! Get on Running!!" His sudden yelling snapped me out of my curious staring and I set off running, "No Skills and you better be going full speed the entire time! I don't want to see you slow down a single second!" It was a little jarring hearing such authority from only a few lengths behind me at the time, but soon I was across the field and he was nowhere in sight.
