The streets of Shibuya grew quieter as Miyako Gojo approached the river. The bustling nightlife gave way to a more industrial landscape, where old warehouses and loading docks lined the banks. The neon lights faded, replaced by dim street lamps that cast long shadows across the pavement. It was the kind of place where you could disappear, and that's exactly what Suguru's group seemed to be doing.
Miyako kept her hood up, her senses on high alert as she navigated the narrow alleys and side streets. The warehouse Suguru's group was using was tucked away, far from the main thoroughfares, with high fences and overgrown vegetation obscuring it from view. She knew this was dangerous territory, and any sign of her presence could lead to a confrontation.
As she approached the warehouse, she found a hidden vantage point behind a stack of crates. From there, she could see the entrance to the building, where a few figures stood guard. They were dressed in dark clothing, their posture tense as they scanned the area. Miyako could sense the cursed energy emanating from them, confirming they were part of Suguru's group.
She took out her phone and sent a quick message to her brother.
"I'm here at the warehouse. Looks like they're guarding the entrance. What's the plan?"
"Wait for backup. Don't engage them alone. I'm on my way."
Miyako nodded to herself, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. She knew Gojo was right—going in alone would be reckless—but waiting for backup could mean missing valuable information. Suguru's group was careful, and they wouldn't leave anything incriminating lying around for long.
She decided to wait, watching the guards from her hidden spot. They seemed agitated, speaking in low voices and checking their surroundings frequently. It was clear they were expecting someone, or perhaps preparing for an important meeting. Miyako couldn't hear their conversation from her position, but she knew something significant was about to happen.
After what felt like an eternity, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching. She turned to see Gojo Satoru walking toward her, his blindfolded gaze as casual as ever. He moved with a relaxed confidence, but Miyako knew he was as focused as anyone in the jujutsu world.
"Hey," he said with a grin, crouching down beside her. "So, what do we have here?"
Miyako pointed toward the warehouse entrance. "Looks like they're guarding it. They're on edge, too. I think they're expecting someone."
Gojo nodded, his expression turning serious. "Let's take a closer look. But remember, we need to be discreet. If they spot us, this could turn into a fight real quick."
Miyako agreed, and they moved together, keeping low and using the crates and other obstacles for cover. As they got closer to the warehouse, they could hear the guards talking more clearly.
"...should be here any minute," one of them said.
"Yeah, Suguru's expecting a big turnout tonight. Don't mess this up," another replied.
Miyako exchanged a glance with Gojo. Suguru was definitely planning something, and it seemed like tonight was a pivotal moment for his group. If they could find out what it was, they might be able to stop it before it caused too much damage.
They continued to observe, watching as more guards arrived and took up positions around the warehouse. It was clear that security was tight, and any attempt to infiltrate the building would require careful planning. Gojo signaled for Miyako to retreat, and they moved back to their original hiding spot to discuss their next move.
"We need to get inside without being seen," Gojo said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But with this many guards, it's not going to be easy."
Miyako nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. "What if we create a distraction? Something to draw their attention away from the entrance?"
Gojo considered the idea, then nodded. "That could work. We need to get them away from the entrance long enough for us to slip inside. Do you have anything in mind?"
Miyako thought for a moment, then smiled. "I have a few tricks up my sleeve. You know how much I love fireworks."
Gojo chuckled, shaking his head. "Always the creative one, huh? Okay, let's do it. But make sure it's big enough to get their attention, but not so big that it attracts the whole city's police force."
Miyako nodded, reaching into her bag and pulling out a small package. It contained a few firecrackers and other noise-making devices—nothing too explosive, but enough to create a distraction. She set up the firecrackers in a hidden spot, far enough from the warehouse to draw the guards away, but close enough to be effective.
Once everything was in place, she lit the firecrackers and quickly moved back to their hiding spot. The firecrackers went off with a loud bang, followed by a series of rapid pops. The guards at the warehouse entrance immediately turned their attention to the noise, rushing toward the source of the disturbance.
Miyako and Gojo used the opportunity to slip toward the warehouse entrance, staying low and out of sight. The guards were too focused on the distraction to notice them, and they managed to reach the entrance without being seen.
The warehouse door was heavy and slightly ajar, allowing them to slip inside without making too much noise. The interior was dark, with only a few dim lights illuminating the space. Crates and boxes were stacked along the walls, creating plenty of hiding spots. Miyako could sense the presence of other sorcerers in the building, but they seemed to be focused on their upcoming meeting.
As they moved through the warehouse, Miyako and Gojo kept to the shadows, avoiding any open spaces where they might be seen. They could hear voices echoing through the building, but it was hard to make out what was being said. It was clear that Suguru's group was preparing for something significant, and they needed to find out what it was.
Eventually, they reached a large open area where a group of sorcerers had gathered. Miyako and Gojo crouched behind a stack of crates, peering through the gaps to see what was happening. At the center of the group stood Geto Suguru, his long black hair cascading over his shoulders. He was speaking with authority, his voice carrying a sense of conviction that made it clear he was in charge.
Miyako listened carefully, trying to pick up on any details that might reveal Suguru's plans. He was talking about the future, about a world free from non-sorcerers, and about how his group would play a key role in making that vision a reality. It was the same rhetoric he had used before, but there was a new sense of urgency in his words.
As Suguru spoke, Miyako noticed something else. There was a map spread out on a nearby table, with various locations marked with red circles. It looked like they were planning a series of coordinated attacks, targeting key points throughout the city. If they succeeded, it could cause chaos and disrupt the jujutsu world in a way that would be difficult to recover from.
Miyako knew she had to act fast. She turned to Gojo, her eyes filled with urgency. "We need to get that map. If we can see what they're planning, we can stop it."
Gojo nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I'll create a distraction. You get the map and get out of here. I'll meet you outside."
Before Miyako could respond, Gojo had already moved, drawing the attention of the sorcerers with a burst of cursed energy. It was enough to create chaos, allowing Miyako to slip toward the table and grab the map. With the map in hand, she quickly retreated, making her way toward the warehouse entrance.
The fight between Gojo and Suguru's group escalated, the sound of combat echoing through the building. Miyako knew she couldn't stay to help—her mission was to get the map and bring it back to Tokyo Jujutsu High. She made her way out of the warehouse and into the night, her heart racing with adrenaline.
The battle against Suguru's group was just beginning, and she knew there would be more challenges ahead. But with the map in her hands, they had a chance to stop Suguru's plans before they caused irreparable harm. It was a small victory, but it was enough to give her hope that they could turn the tide in this war for the future of the jujutsu world.
