____________
For once, Friday was the cool one.

The people in the square watched as she dragged a handcuffed Ian to the Interpol van.

She had her Interpol vest on over a white shirt and had a paintball gun in her pocket.

Ian had one red pain splotch on his white shirt.

Some little kids stared at her as she marched past them, dragging Ian in front of her.

It was only training. Ian wasn't actually a criminal and Friday wasn't actually arresting him. But they didn't know that.

She pushed him into the back of the Interpol van and slid the side door shut.

"Not a record but still a great time." Bernie said, handing Friday the stopwatch.

The back of the van had no seats, it was just an empty space, so Friday and Ian were standing up.

Bernie smiled at a little boy outside who was waving madly at him.

Bernie handed her the key to Ian's cuffs.

She slid the key into her pocket.

"You're not going to let me go?" Ian asked when she made no attempt to unlock the metal around his wrists.

"Hmm, let me think about it." Friday said in a tone that made it clear she was not going to let him out.

"Allow me to help sway your decision." Ian said, kissing her neck.

Friday walked away, smirking when Ian lost his balance and fell face first onto the floor of the van.

"I'm still mad at you." She said as she climbed into the front passenger seat next to Bernie.

Bernie chuckled. "What did you do?" He asked, pulling out of the square.

Ian grunted as he rolled from his front onto his back. "I don't know." He groaned.

"And that, is a different problem." Friday said.

She wasn't that mad, just a bit...annoyed.

"I need to go back to Interpol to get more paint balls for the guns." Bernie said, explaining why they had left the square in the first place.

They spent most of the drive talking strategy, how Ian could have gotten away faster, how Friday could have caught him quicker.

Bernie pulled into the Interpol buildings garage, grabbed his ID and opened the car door. "I'll be back in 10 minutes or so, then we can go again."

Nobody spoke after Bernie left.

Friday could hear Ian trying to get to his feet.

He shuffled over on his knees a few minutes later.

"What did I do?" He asked in a whiney tone, leaning on the centre console.

Friday didn't say anything just looked away.

"I bet you don't even remember." Ian mumbled to himself.

Friday went pink.

"Oh my god!" Ian laughed, "oh my god you don't remember, do you?"

Friday looked at him. "I was mad at you!" She said, trying to not seem like she made it all up. "...I just can't remember why now..."

Ian threw his head back and laughed harder.

Friday pouted.

Ian nudged her with his shoulder. "Tell you what, if you uncuff me I'll do something for you."

Friday sucked in a deep breath. "Ok fine" she breathed.

She unlocked the cuffs.

Ian shook his wrist out.

"So what's in it for me?" She asked.

Then, Ian grabbed Friday under the arms and dragged her into the back of the van.

"What are you doing?" She laughed, falling on top of him.

"Showing you what's in it for you." He said, kissing her jaw.

Friday rolled off him and onto the dusty floor of the van.

"Why are you being so flirty?" She asked sceptically, not sure if he was doing this to cash it in later.

"Can't I show my girlfriend some love and affection?" He said.

Friday stood up, dusting off her pants. "Not when your girlfriend just kicked your butt."

Ian got up too and hooked his arm around her waist. "You know, you look really good in this vest." He said, pulling her closer.

"Mmmh?" Friday said, raising her eyebrows.

He kissed her, and she wrapped her arms around his neck.

Then something thick and wet ran down her back.

Friday bent her arm to feel what it was.

Her hand came back covered in green paint.

Ian laughed. Friday felt utterly betrayed.

He had popped a paint ball on her back, and now it looked like she had been shot too.

"You're such a sore loser!" Friday laughed, arms still around his neck.

"You bet I am."
