It took about a fortnight for them to get the results back.

Oliver handed the envelope to Adeline and watched as she tore it open eagerly.

She read through the pages then frowned. "I don't understand."

Oliver took the page and scanned it. "It says that she is related to you."

Adeline pouted. "Aww man. I was so sure I'd get her on this."

Adeline and her mother had what could be considered the world's worst relationship.

"Sorry Addy. You'll have to try something else." Missy said, rolling her eyes.

After Adeline was out of earshot she murmured. "How could anyone complain about having a mother?"

Oliver and Missy walked over to some free seats in the study hall and took them, dragging them over to an empty table next to the window.

"I thought you liked living with your dad." Oliver said.

Missy nodded. "I do. It's really great. But sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have a female presence in the house. Dad doesn't understand something. I mean, he tries too, but it just isn't the same."

Oliver nodded. He didn't really understand but he could imagine.

"How's life with your mum?" She asked after a while.

Oliver nodded. "Pretty well. Our parents seem to be getting along....quite well."

Missy nodded. "It's so weird. Your mum and my dad. If they get married we'll be related."

She laughed. "Imagine."

Oliver smiled. "That would certainly be an I interesting plot twist."

They chatted for a while before they were told to leave for dinner.

Missy stared at the unopened envelope.

It had arrived today but she hadn't opened it.

She'd wanted to wait, to draw out the excitement of doing such a dumb thing, but a large part of her couldn't wait any longer.

She tore it open and pulled out the pages.

Missy read through the pages until she got to the bit she was looking for.

But when she read it, her silliness faded.

"No way."

Matilda, Missy's roommate, stuck her head out from the bathroom where she was brushing her teeth.

"What?" She asked, mouth full of toothpaste.

This was meant to be a silly joke. This did not seem so silly anymore.

Missy stood up so fast that her chair tipped over.

"What?" Matilda asked again, alarmed.

"I'll be back." Missy yelled, running from the dorm.

She dashed, bare food, up to the third floor of the dormitory block. The third floor was the first of the boys dorms.

She banged on Oliver's dorm. "OLIVER, OPEN UP."

She banged harder, not stopping until the door swung open.

Oliver stood in his pyjama pants staring at her wide eyed and confused. "What?!"

She pushed her way into the room and began pacing.

Oliver shut the door and turned to her.

Before he spoke, she handed him the pages.

"I sent them in at the same time as Adeline's, just as a silly joke." She said nervously. "I never expected this!"

Oliver got to what she was talking about. His eyes widened even more."We're related?"

Missy nodded.

"Wh- how- Wh-" he stuttered.

She grabbed his shoulders. "What do we do?"

Oliver blinked a couple of times. "Uh-"

"OLLY WHAT DO WE DO?" She yelled, shaking him.

Oliver grabbed her arms and pushed her off him. "I don't know. I- Wh- when did you get my DNA?"

Missy walked over to Oliver's bed and sat down. "I took it when you were writing on the envelope."

"I knew it!" He yelled.

"Oliver, this is not our biggest problem." She said, staring at him.

She stood up and walked over to him, unable to sit still.

Her father had lied to her this whole time. Her whole life she had thought she was an only child, but she was related to Oliver?

This raised more questions. "How were they related? Was Oliver not really Friday's son?

A horrible thought crossed her mind

What if she's not really related to her dad?

No, that couldn't be. They looked the same, acted the same and thought mostly the same. But still...

She voiced these worries to Oliver.

Oliver's face went pale. "Ok. Ok, we need to call my mum and your dad and ask them."

Missy blinked. "We can't ask them over the phone. If it's true and they don't want to tell us then all they have to do is make us some excuse and hang up. We need to talk to them in person."

Oliver nodded and they set off towards Dr Belcredi's office.
