This is a common mindset among humans: no matter how bad someone treats you, if you truly and deeply like that person, you'll eventually forgive them and give them another chance.
As for Rayyan, I think I may have exaggerated a little too much about what happened between us. Because of his one mistake, I completely forgot that he once saved me.
I don't want to be someone who is mean and selfish, forgetting all the good when one bad thing happens. I like him and I can't deny it. It has become a fact now.
Rayyan Syed, my husband, I'm so grateful that fate brought us together and for all the events that led us to marry each other. I don't think I regret any of it, or do I?
It's only been one day with him, so I can't really say for sure because I'm not certain about anyone. People can change in an instant, but I hope he remains the same.
I buried my face in the duvet, shielding it from the sun rays that slipped through the curtains. I whimpered and nestled my head in the duvet.
My sleep was interrupted by the loud doorbell ringing. I snapped my eyes open and realized I was on the bed, with my legs resting on Rayyan's, while he slept peacefully, taking up the entire king-sized bed.
I quickly moved my legs from on top of his waist. I don't remember cuddling him last night; it was just a make-out session followed by an awkward silence before we fell asleep.
I was about to get up from the bed and walk out of the room to check who was at the door. But then I saw Rayyan, who looked so peaceful, sleeping like a baby.
His long, curled lashes were gently kissing his cheeks, and his hair was falling on his forehead. His lips were slightly curled up in a pout. He looked so beautiful while sleeping.
To my surprise, he had draped his muscular arm around my body, which made my eyes widen and my heart race.
Within a snap he moved in his sleep and gently his head crawled towards my side and he nuzzled his nose in the crook of my neck, his nose brushing over the skin of my neck, sending tingles down my spine.
The doorbell rang again, and I tried to wriggle out of Rayyan's warm embrace, but I couldn't escape.
"Ray, can you move a bit? Someone's at the door and I need to check it," I whispered softly. He nuzzled even deeper and breathed on my neck, causing goosebumps to erupt all over my skin.
"Sleep is such a beautiful thing," he whispered, his face nestled in my neck, clearly not planning on moving anytime soon.
I hummed in response, running my fingers through his soft brown hair.
"But sleeping with you by my side feels like heaven. I don't feel guilt and remorse drowning me forcefully for what happened with Armaan. I feel safe, safe from my own demons and thoughts," he mumbled and babbled on.
