"Hey. You havin' a good time here so far?" Ethan asked with a calm smile once I approached him, his eyes staring at me. With how calm he was all the time, it was a little hard to tell if he was being genuine in his enthusiasm about me joining the club.

Still, I replied with a sigh and a half-smile, saying: "Yeah.. it's still a little embarrassing though."

"Heheh.. I know the feeling. Don't worry though. I'm sure we'll all get used to it." Ethan laughed lightly without a care in the world, his voice low and soothing. Honestly, could calm anyone down just by talking to them or being around them. Makes me kinda understand why he's even the president of this club.

I only smile and nod, agreeing half-heartedly. I still wasn't entirely sure about any of this, but it was nice to receive some encouragement from Ethan anyway. I then reached out my paper toward Ethan, who looked down at it with a slight widen of his eyes before taking it.

A soft smile then formed a little on his lips again as he presumably began to read, his eyes darting across the page, scanning each and every word. And then after a full minute had passed, he slowly lifted his head—stared at me for a few seconds, and handed it back over to me with a slow chuckle.

(IF ON RICKS ROUTE)

Ethan smiles. "Geez, man. Didn't expect for you to go for something so dark. It's actually really good."

I nervously laugh, resisting the urge to ask him what that was supposed to mean. "Well, I doubt it.. compared to everyone else, I'd say it sounds like I put the least effort into this."

"I doubt that's true." Ethan says reassuringly, waving his hand. "Y'know, Rick actually kinda likes this stuff. Compared to Rad and Kevin, he likes more dark or tragic things, even things that are just borderline sad. I haven't seen much of the stuff he's written, but he usually has stuff that you can analyze pretty deeply. That's kinda what's fun about it."

He then adds before I can respond, "You know, he can actually be pretty messed sometimes.. not like in a bad way or anything. I think he just spends so much time alone with his own thoughts that he usually has more time to create stuff, and ends up writing a bunch of things that can almost be kinda traumatizing." He laughs slightly—staring up at the ceiling before letting out a sigh.

"It's nice to see he's finally getting some kinda interaction from someone other than me and Kevin though. Maybe if you talk to him enough, he'll finally manage to interact like a normal person. Heheh.." Ethan chuckles to himself.

I raise a brow, feeling something similar to anger rise in my chest upon hearing that rather.. light-hearted description Ethan gave of him. But before I can respond, the door slowly opens up.

"Oh, Rick!" Ethan says aloud as he sees a familiar large figure slowly peeking into the club-room.

"..hey." Rick says. His eyes lingering in my direction and then back over to Ethan, he asks. "..did I miss something?"

"Eh, not that much. We're just sharing scripts now." Ethan shrugs.

"..oh.. well, sorry. I had to go the bathroom."

"Nah, it's fine. We still have a bit of time left anyway."

"Uhh—okay.. I'll get my script now then."
