"Are you proud of me by the way?"
"..for..?"
"Uhh.. you know—for not being late to work that often anymore?"
Radford asked me with a slightly eager but nervous grin as I began to turn the car back on, and gripped the wheel with one of my hands.
"I mean—yeah, I guess." I shrugged. "I didn't think it was something I needed to congratulate you on or anything though."
"Mm.. dudeee.."
"What? It's not like it's that big of a deal or anything.."
"Yeah, but it'd still mean a lot to hear that from you.." Radford grumbled while looking off to the side, his lips curled into a soft frown.
"Why?"
"It just would!"
"I.." I felt myself grow silent as he looked off to the side with a simple pout. I then finally let out a tired sigh after a few moments, and my face became warm yet again.
"..fine.." I groan while looking away from his face—hearing the car begin to make a rumbling sound as it started up. "..I'm.. pr—proud of you, I guess."
I could see Radford stare at me from the corner of my eye, before only giving a little smile. That same dorky line of a smile he always had. Yet.. I was weirdly relieved to see him like this for some reason. I held back a weak smile, and let my foot hit the brakes, and began to drive the car foward.

As we drifted foward along the road in my car, the sun began to rise more into the pink-tinted sky—and the atmosphere of the town gradually became lighter as people appeared along the sidewalks making their usual daily commute.
And as I continued to drive, Radford continued to ramble about random topics I had been listening to, but sometimes had to focus off of so I could continue driving and not get us into an accident. It was a little hard to keep up with him and his random conversations sometimes, but seemingly as he kept rambling excitedly from beside me, he was talking passionately about some rather good movie he just watched. Not wanting him to think I wasn't listening though, I kept replying to everything he said with a simple "Oh, really?" or "Mhm."
Then, as we drifted closer to the movie theater of his that happened to be pretty near the mall I had worked at—Radford's eyes widened, and he let out an excited exclamation as he seemingly thought of something else to talk about. Holding back a sigh at whatever he was about to talk about next, I listened with close ears, for I knew it must have been something I probably couldn't get out of the moment I either agreed to it or the moment I encouraged him about it.
"So, I was thinking—you know how I have that little movie club at my work place I always go to after every shift, right?"
"Uhh.. yeah." I said, sounding a little more uncertain than I meant to.
"Maybe you should go ahead and join one! It'd be fun to see what you think of club type stuff. And it'd also help you get out more!"
"I.. dude, I don't need a cl—" I stopped myself. I.. probably shouldn't be saying something like that. Especially now when Radford has a club of his own that he actually started.
"..y'know what.. maybe I will.."
"Wait—really?"
"Yeah.."
"Oh, sick! What kinda club?"
"I.. hmm.." I thought for a moment, and smiled. "I won't tell you yet."
"What? Why?"
