The room was unusually quiet, only the sound of the pages turning and clock ticking could be heard. Karma was sat at her desk, writing away on a piece of paper. Her posture was lazy, yet her eyes were sharp and focused.
A man sat not to far away on another desk going through a book. He would occasionally glance at the stack of papers on his desk that seems to grow in numbers, as the time passed and the red head added another.
He looked towards the red head as once again she got up and marched towards him. She stopped short in front of his desk and layed down two more sets of paper.
“I'm done.” she said.
The older male nodded, “That was quick, though I wouldn't say I'm surprised.” he muttered.
Mr.Minamoto was accustomed to the prodigy that was the red head. When he first met the child, he could tell that something was quite different about the redhead from the other countless children he had previously taught.
And he was correct, she was extraordinary when it comes to learning and then executing the knowledge. She would grasp a concept easily and was able to read complex english literature fluently, as if she were a native.
In a week's time she was done learning all the material from her grade. So, he gave her the content of the next grade. And again she was done with it in a week or so. Following this pattern, he kept increasing the learning material and the difficulty of it. She took longer than a week, as it was a lot of material to be dealt with but she completed it far better and faster than any other child could.
Mr.Minamoto had suggested that she should participate in various government competitive exams, as it would benefit her future career greatly and make it easier for her to pursue her dream job.
The redhead had declined at that time, but said that she would participate later on when she was older. From her perspective, it was too much of a hassle to bring attention to herself at such a young age. And it wouldn't be too mind boggling if she were to participate later on, when she was at least at a believable age to be a prodigy.
“I will have these checked by tomorrow and send your results by mail as usual.” Mr.Minamoto said as he collected all the papers and put them in his briefcase.
“Alright.” the redhead nodded to her teacher.
She bid him farewell at the door as courtesy of being respectful to her teacher. She remembers when she didn't do so and Grandma Yuki had revoked her sweets rights for three days. That was the worst three days of her short life here so far.
