Before you start reading my book, It's my job to make you understand that it might have something to do with vampires but it doesn't have much to do with exact historical mythologies regarding vampires. I have bent a lot of rules and gleefully did so. I chose the vampirish traits I liked and put them in. The ones I didn't appreciate, I ignored them completely.
Now about the logic behind bending those rules, I'll explain in my story in the best way possible leaving little to no plot-holes.
Once again it's a work of fiction and according to my belief besides having an obsession with vampires, they do not exist.
You can call it a modern tale if you wish. Though I did my research but it has a lot to do with my imagination.
Feel free to leave at this point if you're going to criticise about vampires don't breathe, eat, laugh or anything of that sort.
