Nora's pov
Me, Ace, and Miss Celine, along with DAV and a guy named Blue, were all waiting for the head of another company to arrive. Blue, who is also his secretary, was just hosting us while his boss didn't come.
"Just five seconds, and if he's not here... I'm done," Ace said, getting angry, while Blue was on the phone, yelling at someone.
"Whom are you yelling at?" I asked Blue, trying to offer him a glass of water.
"This Moon, he's way too irresponsible," he said, and I thought he must be talking about some colleague.
Then the other company head arrived, and everyone stood up in the office, with him wiping his sweat.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Ace was caught up with some personal issues," he said. Ace just rolled his eyes but didn't shake hands with him, so DAV did it instead.
They all sat down, and it was a meeting involving five different companies, here for collaboration.
And finally, at the end, the Kiriguns decided to invest and collaborate with Sunshine, the late guy's company.
"Hello, sir, what's your good name?" I asked, and smiling, Celine whispered,
"You should've asked me; he will think we didn't come prepared. That's what I hate the most. It's not a big deal; he's not Lee Min Ho that people should know his name. I know it's rude, but asking for a name is not rude at all."
"Whatever," I said, annoyed by her constant corrections. Even though she annoys me a lot, I know I'm the problem, but I hate people correcting me everywhere.
"My name is Moon, nice to meet you. Um, what's YOUR name?" He asked, smiling at me. Even he didn't know my name, even though I have the best bakery in whole Chiang Mai, but still, I didn't mind.
"Oh, so you are the guy whom Blue was yelling at?" I asked, and Celine just facepalmed and walked away from me.
"Y-yes, actually, I woke up late."
"Isn't he your secretary?" I asked, curiously.
"That's what I say. I'm his secretary. I shouldn't scold him, but he's so irresponsible that I have to scold him... He's just an i... Anyways," Blue said, getting annoyed, and Moon just pouted.
"Baby, sorry, sorry," he said, and they began to act like a couple, and I knew they were something by then.
Finally, after the gathering, we decided to have dinner in a restaurant, and gosh, the restaurant was so big, and Celine and I were walking inside together, in a different lift, as the other elevator was full, so we decided to take the stairs. She's kind and sweet to me too.
"I don't want to eat food, can we take money instead?" I asked, and she giggled and ruffled my hair.
"Yes, we can,let me ask Ace" she said, thinking I must be joking.
Finally, we all sat down, and by my kind of mistakes, I sat down beside Ace, and we all began to have dinner when I got a text from Mom, and I looked at my phone.
"Tomorrow we need 15,000 baht for your dad's urgent treatment. Did you get your salary?"
"No, Mom, it's only been one week?" I texted back.
"No worries, I will manage," I replied. I'm tired of saying no to her again and again. I wanted to cry, so I just stood up and went inside the washroom and began to cry.
Suddenly, someone held my hands and pulled me up.
"Give me your phone," Ace asked, and I just wiped my tears.
"W-why?"
"Shut up and give it to me," he said, so I gave it to him, and he sat down on the chair doing something with my phone and his phone too.
"Sit on the ground and massage my feet," he said, and I glared at him but did that because, in the end, I need money.
I was massaging his legs when I saw some curry stain on his thighs.
"Oh shit, there's a huge stain over it," I said, pulling out wipes from my pocket as I always keep them with me. You know I'm a clean freak, so I hate when things get dirty.
I was just wiping his thighs when he was about to say something when Moon said,
"Ah sorry, sorry," he said, covering his eyes and walked away. We just looked at each other and made a face.
"Here it is," saying that he gave my phone back, and I checked my mom's conversation, and I saw he asked for her account and then sent 50,000 baht to her.
"Thanks a lot, sir," I said, running behind him.
"Your six-month salary will be half deducted. It's not for free; you will pay in installments with 20% interest."
How I thought he's so kind, but he's not. But anyway, at the end, he helped me because I would've never arranged this much amount so soon.
"Thanks, son, this will really help us a lot. I love you. Mumma is sorry to bother you every time," she texted, and I just reacted with a heart and went back to the dining area.
We all had our dinner, and they all left, and only me and Ace were there as he was doing some meeting on his laptop. Can you imagine? At 1 am in the night, this guy was doing a meeting.
"He's Nora, my assistant; he will tell you about everything related to the product," he said, referring to me as an army kid, well-versed in English, and that's why I began to explain everything, and in between that, Ace went away somewhere. The guy at the end asked me something unusual.
"You are so talented. Would you like to join our team? We can pay you double," he said, offering double pay. That really made me think about the offer, but then here, people are kind. Of course, sometimes they correct me a lot, and that's what I hate the most, but at least they aren't mean and ignorant like other companies. Some companies are just terrible.
"No, sir, I would kindly refuse this opportunity, as I'm not in the state to make these decisions. This is against my organization's rules and working ethics," I said, repeating the same thing Stacy taught. Indeed, that girl is annoying, but I must say she's very intelligent and taught me many things.
"Your assistant is indeed so trustworthy; he passed the test," he said, looking at me, and when I looked behind, I saw Ace standing.
"So, was it a test?" I asked, and he nodded and disconnected the call.
"I can't trust you; that's why I decided to do it, just to make sure," he said, and I really felt bad because he never took anyone's test as far as I know.
"Have you ever taken Celine's test? Stacy's? DAV's? or anyone's?" I asked, trying to stop myself from yelling at him.
"No, I didn't."
"Then "Why me? Is it because I'm poor? And I took your money? I never asked for your money. I'm not a thief," I said, yelling at him, and burst out crying when he grabbed my hands and pushed me inside the car.
"I did it because they aren't my assistant; you are mine. That's why I need to be sure. I don't care about others because they are working outside, but you are with me all the time, so I need to be sure. They aren't a part of me, but you are... Understand that. I just hate how rude and annoying and wrong you can be at times, can't you understand why I m doing all this" he explained.
"Even you are correcting me... I hate it. I'm not wrong; I'm good; my parents said I'm perfect. Then why do you guys always need to correct me?" I yelled at him again.
"Shut your mouth; you are wrong. Dare you yell at me; I will sue you and throw you inside the prison," he threatened me and got out. He sat down and screamed,
"Now drive the fucking car," and wiping my tears, I just began to drive the car, silently crying, feeling like no one in this world cares for me.
