Nora's POV:

It's been three weeks since Ace was admitted to the hospital. After that, they didn't allow anyone to visit him, and he was transferred to a larger hospital because his condition worsened.

Finally, today he's coming back, and everyone decorated everything so well. We were all standing at the gate as he walked in, and everyone sang a song. Liya, Stacy, and Edward performed a welcome dance too.

"Thanks everyone, but your good days are over. Get back to work. Also, your working schedules are two hours longer this week for everyone who took more than five leaves. And, everyone will be doing overtime tonight to meet the deadline. Miss Davika, from today, your two breaks won't be counted; there's only one break. And, Miss Emmy, I need the performance report for the whole month and all the reports for cancelled meetings," he said, assigning a lot of work to everyone.

Finally, we went inside, and after assigning work to everyone, he came towards me, and I gulped down in fear.

"You were enjoying yourselves so much, right? So start doing all the things written in this list," he immediately sent me a long list of work. When I checked, I had already finished most of these tasks because even when he wasn't here, I was working on his laptop. I didn't want this company to suffer losses. I didn't want our kids to go bankrupt just because their father got sick.

I started the rest of the work, and finally, at 6:30, my work was completed. He was still working, so I went out and saw everyone struggling. I told them not to enjoy themselves, but they were enjoying, so showing some mercy, I just helped them out. Finally, with teamwork, we almost completed the work, and it was 8 pm when someone came with a lot of delicious food and served it on the dining table.

"Treat from Ace... Let's eat," Celine said, and everyone joined in with joy. When I saw a lady sitting in the corner, I asked, "What happened? Let's go?"

"Can I go home? My son is suffering from anxiety and depression," she asked, and I nodded.

"Are you sure I can go?" I asked, and she nodded. She was leaving when I handed her a lunchbox, and she smiled and bowed down to thank me.

"It's okay, go, and call or text me when you reach home," I said, and she left. When I turned around, I saw Ace glaring at me.

"Tonight is overtime; we aren't an NGO here," he said, and I just pouted, holding his hands.

"Let them rest; they worked hard. I can do their work... Please?" I asked, trying to act cute, but he just shrugged his hands and sat down with everyone, maintaining some distance, and began to eat food. Even I had my dinner and stood up to leave when he spoke.

"You guys can leave now; I was just joking about night work," As soon as he said that, everyone jumped with joy, and for the first time, I saw Ace smiling a little bit. Soon everyone left, and even I went to my office to do some of my tomorrow's work as we have a lot of meetings this week.

"Which meetings do I have to attend tomorrow? I missed so much; they might not collaborate with us."

"We already did all the meetings; Celine and I did that. We got each one," I said, and his face lit up.

"It must be Celine's hard work," he said, and I nodded because indeed that girl really gave her best. Let her get the credit; I'm not hungry for credit when he's going to be my husband itself. Hahaha, delusion is the loveliest thing in the world.

"Tell me which meetings I need to attend tomorrow?"

"No meetings; you will just rest tomorrow," I said sweetly, smiling at him, forgetting whatever he did because he was sick, so let's not hold grudges against him.

"I'm not asking you whether I will attend or not; tell me how many meetings there are."

"Only two, and you won't attend them," I said, "I said what I said."

"I will; you aren't my boss; I'm your boss."

"Okay, attend this meeting with Celine then. In fact, you like her, so it will be best for you; at least you two can spend time together. Good luck," I said, walking inside, when he grabbed me from the back.

"I will again slap you; leave me," I said when he turned me around.

"You are coming with me; that's final; I don't need Celine."

"I'm not going; I'm feeling sick. Let me rest; I'm tired because the whole week I did your share of work too. Leave," I said, pushing him away, and I came back. After showering, I came towards the big bed, and I saw he walked out from another shower and sat down beside me.

"You are coming with me," he said again before laying on the bed.

"No, never; I won't," I said, and turning towards the other side, I just closed my eyes.

It was just a few minutes of me pretending to be asleep because somehow I couldn't sleep on the same bed as him when I felt his hands inside my shirt. I was about to yell, but I stopped myself when he began to whisper something.

"You know you are so annoying and stubborn. I never pleaded or cared about anyone being with me, but I do about you, and all you do is be stubborn. You will come with me tomorrow, at any cost."he said rubbing my tummy with his big hands

"I won't, you pervert, never," I said out loud, and he got scared as I caught him red-handed.

"What were you doing with my tummy? Pervert?" I asked, and he looked here and there but smirked and pulled me closer.

"Just testing whether you gained weight when I was absent. You must be eating a lot and resting. Look, your tummy came out so big."

"Shut up... You are bad... I hate you," I said, sulking, and turning around, I finally fell asleep.
