Tired

Nora's POV:

After the tiring and boring day, my working hours were complete, and I came back home to find the lady already packing her luggage.

"But I told you I need at least 4 days," I asked her, and she smiled guiltily.

"Sorry, my sister-in-law's family is coming over. I've already extended so much. Please understand and leave," she politely requested, and I nodded, acknowledging that she had extended it for 5 days as I pleaded.

I grabbed my small bag containing just a few shirts, a pair of jeans, and some other accessories, and began walking out.

From there, I went to one of my neighbor's homes.

"Can I place this bag at your place for a few days? I'm going out of town," I asked. Smiling, she nodded.

"Yes, why not? Please come? Let's have dinner," she politely asked, but I declined as she's a young teenage girl who lives alone, so I didn't want to go to her house so late.

Walking out of the building, I went to the nearby garden and began to think about what to do next.

Suddenly, I checked my pocket and decided to buy some bread. After walking for some time, I finally went into a big supermarket, where there are some cheap almost-expired products available, so I could definitely buy some bread at least.

While browsing, I was about to fall when someone held me. I thought there might be a handsome guy or girl, but to my bad luck, it was the same grandma whom I had bumped into that day.

"I know I'm pretty, but I already have a husband, and he's alive, and I love him," she said, and I snapped back to reality. The tall black uniformed guy beside her chuckled, so I just stood up and resumed looking for bread. Finally, after some time, I found the expired section and picked up the bread.

"This is expired? Can't you see?" the same granny whom I saved that day asked, and I gulped down as I needed to lie to her, but why bother? Let's just tell her the truth; she doesn't even know me.

"I'm not rich like you, granny. Anyways, bye bye, goodnight beauty," saying that, I immediately left the place because I didn't want the lady to pity me and give me something as a beggar.

In the middle of the night, under a tree in a garden, I was having some bread and thinking about the time when I used to just order around, and my parents used to serve me like a king. Now, my dad is sick, my mom is suffering and earning, and here I am also struggling. I wish I knew that things like this would happen.

But thanks to the money Ace sir gave me for saving his granny in the accident, my dad could have his medicine, at least a bit.

I was eating when I got a call, and when I looked at it, it was Ace. I mean, why is he calling at this hour, and that too a video call?

I decided to hang up, but then I remembered that in the contract, it was written that I can't hang up his call in any situation; otherwise, I have to pay a fine of $500, and never do I ever want that to happen, so I picked it up.

"Hello sir, good morning, I mean good night," I greeted.

"Good evening. So, tell me at least 10 clauses from page 15," he asked, and I was just remembering them.

"Now tell me," he requested, so I explained each and everything, and finally, he seemed convinced.

"Ok fine, tomorrow I need you to make a presentation on the topic related to our products, explaining how our product is different from others."

"Ok sir... By the way, can I ask you something?" I asked to inquire if he could let me stay somewhere for the time being, but he shook his head.

"No, call the company's manager for any queries or help," he immediately disconnected the call, so I decided to sleep. After finishing my snack, I was about to sleep when I saw a lady with open hair standing, and I genuinely got scared, and she held my hand.

"Oh god... I'm here to take you with me... Let's go to our company," she said, and I frowned. Then she explained that Ace's sister (I forgot her name) had told her about me, but how did she know about it? Anyways!

Soon we reached the company, and she gave me Ace's office keys.

"Go sleep in Ace's sir's bedroom; there's a bed attached to it," she said, but as soon as she received a call, she immediately changed her sentence.

"I mean, don't sleep on his bed. Just sleep on the couch; the bed is washed, so don't make it dirty," she said, and nodding, I went inside. After showering and changing my clothes (because, of course, I have a pair of comfy clothes with me), I cleaned the whole couch properly and decided to sleep.

Yes, I'm a clean freak. I wash up 4 times a day, avoid touching the toilet tap or something, rarely pick something from the ground, and even if I do, I just clean myself afterward. I love cleanliness. It's like I was born for it.

I respect that Ace is also a clean freak and doesn't like to be touched. Of course, when I touched him for the first time, I had a solid reason; first, I didn't know, and second, he was scared, so to save him.

Now, I will keep my boundaries and stay away from him because, in the end, he's human, and maybe he has OCD. If he actually doesn't like certain things, let him be.
