LEIA O'CONNOR

PERCY JACKSON HAD EFFECTIVELY RECEIVED THE 'LEIA TREATMENT' FROM CAMP HALFBLOOD. No one wanted to be near him, everyone talked about him behind his back, he effectively became a nobody overnight. It was the Leia O'Connor effect, as Ethan kindly dubbed it (he earnt a smack from Leia as soon as the last syllable escaped his lips).

Leia could feel the tension in the camp and she didn't need her abilities to feel it. It was the most prominent feature since Capture the Flag. Annabeth seemed to always be in a haste, muttering about quests, Clarisse seemed resentful and avoidant, picking more fights with others since she didn't want a mouthful of toilet water, and most of Hermes' cabin spent their time gossiping about everything, coming up with little theories on Percy Jackson. It was as if there was a catch on Percy arriving at camp, like he would jump out with a knife, preach ungodly stuff about his father being better than Zeus, and then vanish into the sea.

Leia was sick of it.

"Can you believe this?" Leia scoffed quietly, crossing her arms next to Ethan. He rolled his eyes at her. "Being a big three kid is forbidden, yes I know, blah blah blah, but it's not like he picked his parents!" Ethan shook his head, putting down a newspaper he must have swiped from Connor down. Leia looked up at him, raising a brow.

He huffed, reading it out. "Boy and Mother still missing after frick car accident. By Eileen Smite? No, Smythe." Leia nodded, as if gesturing for Ethan to continue. He shook his head firmly, scoffing. "There's no way I'm reading all that shit."

Leia huffed. In the end, they decided to sneak it into Percy's new cabin, just so he would see that he's a currently sought after person due to the entire disappearance involving his mother. She couldn't help feeling bad for Percy; being left out for who you were wasn't exactly the world's best feeling.

Yet, for some odd reason, he decided she'd be the best person to join him on a quest. Leia O'Connor, a daughter of Psyche, handpicked for a quest? The words sounded preposterous on her tongue, like a sick joke. The sacred number for quests was three, yet for some bizarre reason Percy Jackson wanted Leia, of all people, to join.
