I walked into the apartment, still smiling from my date with Dan. Bennie and Josh were laying on the couch, watching some random TV show. Josh looked up when I walked in the door.

"So?" he asked, changing the channel.

"So what?"

"How'd it go?"

I smiled and sat in the chair across from Josh. "Amazing. Dan is so sweet."

Josh laughed. "You're blushing, Aly."

I laughed too. "I can't help it."

We chatted for a few minutes before I decided to go to my room and change. I smiled again thinking back on the night. We had only just met, yet he seemed to know exactly what I would love. I settled on my bed and grabbed my guitar, just strumming random chords, until someone knocked on my door.

"Come in," I said, trying to re-tune one of the strings.

Josh walked in flopped down on my bed beside me. I raised my eyebrow at him. "Can I help you?"

He turned his head so he could look at me. "Honestly, I don't even know."

I put my guitar down. "Is something wrong, Josh?"

"I just. I can't figure out my emotions when it comes to Amanda. I know she's bad for me. I know she's a fucking bitch. But I can't seem to make my heart understand that."

I scooted closer to him and put my hand on his arm, trying to comfort him. "Love does that to us all. I mean, you've been with her for a long time right?" He nodded. "Well then it's understandable why you're so confused about it. You loved her at one point, even if you don't now. It's easy to tell when you had songs like you did on Masterpiece Theatre."

"I'm scared," he said, barely whispering.

"Of what, Josh?"

"Being alone."

I frowned and moved so I was laying next to him. He had turned his head away so I made him look at me again. "You will never be alone Josh. You have friends, family, thousands of fans. We're all here for you. Always."

I grabbed his hand so he would know I was being serious and pushed some of his hair out of his eyes. He looked like he was ready to cry. "Josh, I'm serious. You have so many people in your life that will always be there for you. And I know that we haven't known each other very long, but I will always be here for you. If you ever just need someone to talk to or someone to listen to you, I'll always be there. I promise."

He pulled me closer to him and hugged me tightly. "Thank you," he whispered.

I returned the hug. "Anytime."

The next morning I woke up when Josh was knocking on my door. I walked over to the door, half asleep, and glared at him.

"What?"

"We have to be at the studio in an hour."

"What? Why didn't you tell me this last night?"

"Kind of slipped my mind, sorry," he said giving me his famous smirk.

I rolled my eyes. "I'll be ready in a few minutes."

As I was quickly getting ready, my phone beeped, telling me I had a text message.

Hey, wanna do something today? :)

I smiled. Dan. I liked hanging out with him. He was sweet, nice, interesting, funny, he was everything that I liked in a guy. Plus a British accent. What's not to like about that?
