"Alyssa?" he asked.
Holy fucking shit, I thought. "Y-yeah?" I stammered.
He smiled again. "I'm Josh."
My brain still couldn't comprehend what was going on. "Uh, yeah, I know," I said as I blushed.
He smiled again. "Do you mind if I come in?" he asked.
I shook my head to get myself to function like a normal human. "Oh yeah, sorry," I said as I stepped out of the way. "You don't mind dogs do you?"
"Not at all."
He walked into the kitchen and watched me as I closed the door behind him. I stared at him. Oh my god. Josh fucking Ramsay is standing in my kitchen. I grabbed Princess' collar and shooed her away from Josh. "Um, we can sit in the living room if you want?"
He nodded his head and gestured for me to lead the way. I walked through the dining room and sat on the couch in the living room. He sat down beside me. "Um, not to be rude or anything, but why are you here?"
He laughed to himself. "Yeah, I guess I should explain?"
I nodded. "Well I'm assuming you're a fan, yes?" he asked.
"Of course."
"So you know we're writing a new album?"
"Yeah."
"Well, the guys and I saw those stories that you write on that fan fiction site - "
"YOU WHAT?!" I began hyperventilating. Those were NOT meant to be seen by the band that inspired them.
He smiled. "And we really liked them. We think you're a really good writer."
I just continued to stare at him. "We want you to help co-write the next album."
"What?"
He took an envelope out of his leather jacket and handed it to me. "We want to write an album, like a concept album. Kind of like how albums used to be."
I nodded my head, somewhat understanding. "You mean like more than a bunch of songs on a CD. You want them to all go together?"
"Exactly!"
"So what does this have to do with me?"
"Well, I'm kind of stuck. I can't think of anything that would make a good song."
I nodded again. "That sucks. Your songs are amazing."
He smiled at me again, making my heart melt. "Thanks. Your writing is some of the best that I've seen in a long time."
I blushed again. "How did you find my stuff anyways?"
"Time to time we check those fan sites, just to see what you guys come up with. Your story had the most reads on the page we were on so we decided to check it out. You wrote it by yourself?"
I nodded. "Yeah. I've been writing for years. I want to be an author."
"I'd believe that. So we read it and, it was Matt's idea actually, he suggested that we find a co-writer for the album so I wasn't so stressed about making a concept album. He suggested you."
"Well I have no contact information anywhere on that site. Or on the other sites that I'm on. How did you find me?"
"Days of Googling. You're hard to track down."
I laughed. "Yeah. A lot of my stuff is private."
"We noticed. We actually found you because you were friends with Kevvy."
