ALYSSA'S POV

I woke up early the next morning when I heard light snoring in my room. I turned over and saw Josh half off the air mattress. I laughed quietly as I got out of bed and went downstairs. I filled up Princess' bowls with food and water and let her outside. Josh came downstairs about an hour later, looking tired.

"Morning," I said as I walked back into the kitchen, putting my glass in the dishwasher.

"Hi," he mumbled.

I laughed. "Not a morning person?"

"No, not really."

"Do you want anything?"

"Nah, I'm good. I have to get back to my hotel anyways."

"Oh?"

"Yeah. I have to talk to the travel people and make sure everything is all set for Friday, when we leave."

I nodded my understanding. "I guess I should pack then?"

"Yeah. Just pack enough clothes for a couple of weeks in a suitcase first. Then the rest of the stuff that you would want and we can ship it separately."

"What am I allowed to bring?"

"Anything you want. Whatever you'd need for like a year."

"Well is there anything you wouldn't want me to bring, seeing as I'm going to stay with you?"

"Bring whatever you want. I have an extra room in my apartment."

I sat next to him on the couch where he had closed his eyes again. He turned his head towards me when he felt me sit next to him. "Just don't bring your shit ton of books. They'll cost a fortune to ship."

I laughed. "Yeah, I know I have a lot of books."

"Did you actually read them all?"

"Of course. Some of them more than once."

He raised his eyebrows. "Wow."

We watched TV for a few minutes while he tried to get the energy to change. About an hour later he was dressed and ready to go. I was in the kitchen making muffins that I had for my breakfast when I was too lazy to cook anything else. He walked passed the oven and stared at them. I looked over my shoulder at him and laughed.

"Want one?"

"What kind are they? They smell delicious."

"Banana with chocolate chips and coconut."

"If you think you can spare one, I'd love to have one."

I laughed again and handed him one. "I think I can live without this one."

He smiled at me with his breath taking smile. "Thanks."

I smiled back. "So am I just meeting you at the airport on Friday or...?"

"I still have to iron out the details with the company first. I'll text you when I know everything?"

"Yeah sure."

"Great. I had a lot of fun yesterday. Thanks for showing me around. But I really have to get back to my hotel," he said as he slipped on his shoes.

"I had fun too. This just means you'll have to show me around Vancouver when we get there," I said with a smile, leaning against the door frame.

"Of course I will. I'll text you later!" he yelled as he jogged to his car.

I waved as I closed the door and smiled to myself. I still couldn't believe that I would be working with them.
