ASTORIA
The sun wrapped its warmth around us as we stepped outside.
The skirt of my dress fanned my legs and I held the book and the blanket closer to me. I had few more chapters of Crime and Punishment so I decided to read it now that we'll be outside.
It would be good for Theo to go out on a fresh air. I bet he would have been bored inside.
"We can sit there." I pointed towards the big shadow created by the willow tree.
We made our way to the destination and I laid the blanket on the ground. After I placed the book down, I took a hold of the clip and tied my whole hair up.
My back was partly exposed from the dress and I felt the light breeze caress my burning skin.
The dress reached down to my knees and had slightly puffed short sleeves. Bianca always said that this dress made me look amazing so I thought I could wear it today.
For some reason I wanted to look good whenever I was around Theo.
He stopped his wheelchair chair next to the blanket and I sat down, the skirt of the dress pooling around me.
"Maybe we should have taken some snacks with us. Do you wanted some?" I said.
"No, I'm fine." I nodded and then checked my phone to see if there was any news from Bianca. She hasn't texted me anything today. I just hope she didn't do anything stupid and said anything to dad.
I don't think he'll be more understanding with her than he was with me.
"Is everything alright?" Theo's voice reached my ears and I smiled, placing the phone on my lap.
"I was just checking if my sister messaged me anything." His eyebrow arched and I cleared my throat.
"She had a bodyguard and she said that she developed crush on him and now she's all heartbroken because he was replaced." I continued.
"She's still very young and she gets crush on whoever looks her way. I'm sure she'll get over it." She was not even eighteen and the guy was probably in his thirties. I'm glad he was being replaced despite my sister's heartbreak.
At least I won't have to worry about her getting involved with anyone before she gets married.
I don't want her having the same faith as me.
We can't be sure that she'll get a good husband if she stays unmarried after twenty-one.
There are possibilities that she could get an arranged marriage with a man who is far older than her.
I wouldn't want that for her and I'm sure she wouldn't as well. Even though she likes to joke about liking older men.
"Why doesn't she visit you here?"
