RHYS CAPPELL
20 years oldI hate people.
Sweaty bodies pushed past me, trying to get in line for a simple coffee.
It's like they couldn't wait like a normal human beings.
I tilted my head back and rolled my shoulders as I stood behind an elderly lady who had her eyes glued to the phone in her hands.
The door of the Cafe opened and a man walked in. He had a small dog in his hands, both of them soaked from the rain outside.
Hope it stops before I get to leave.
I liked rain but only if I was at home, drinking tea or reading a book in bed.
Thankfully the workers were doing their job fast and I didn't have to wait more than I already have. My favourite Cafe was under renovation so I had to get my coffee somewhere else.
This was the closest one to our building.
Last year I have started working with my parents in their company. It was what I always envisioned for me. I didn't have any other plans other than this.
"Hello, what can I get you?" The young man behind the counter spoke while looking at me with tired eyes. The apron around his waist was loosely tied and dirty. His hair pushed back.
He had a piercing on his left eyebrow and one on his nose.
"Black coffee, no sugar." It's what I usually got when I was at work because it was the only coffee that got me going.
He nodded and started preparing my order.
I looked down at the watch on my wrist and let out a sigh.
I had twenty more minutes until my break was over. Dad and mom treated me like their regular employee because they wanted me to get use to everything and be prepared for the future which was fine with me. I didn't want a special treatment just because I was their son.
"Hi!" A feminine voice spoke from my left.
Turning my head to the sound, I was met with a petite girl who was gazing up at me. A big smile on her chubby face, her ocean blue eyes filled with hesitation and slight panic.
Her ashy blond hair that was wavy, was hidden under a leather beret hat. I ran my eyes over her outfit.
She had black skirt and a black turtleneck top. The big brown leather trench coat swallowed her whole body. She had dark red boots with a high heel on but she was still quite shorter than me.
The top of her head reaching my collarbone.
I lifted my eyebrow in question.
"I know this will sound crazy but can you pretend to be my boyfriend for a like five minutes? Please." She looked at the door and looked back at me.
