Chapter 16.

Dereks POV

I was woken up by what sounded like a thunderstorm outside. My house was dark and cold. After I left the BAU I had came home, showered, cracked a beer and did some renovating to my house. I guess I had fallen asleep on the couch because the time on my phone read 2:22 a.m. I had a bunch of missed calls and text messages from various girls. "I need to stop giving out my number" I thought. I got up and took my beer can to the kitchen to empty it out. As I did this I thought about Garcia. I really didn't like the way she treated me today, like I was a stranger. It hurt. So I decided to call her. Yeah it was late but she always answered my calls, no matter the time.

I laid across the couch on my stomach with a pillow underneath me. I hit Garcias number and waited.

* ring ring ring* went Garcia phone. She was asleep but knew Dereks ringtone. Her ears perked up and she groaned as she leaned over to grab her phone off the dresser. she answered in a gruff voice "hello"

"hey mama" I said kinda chipper

"What" she said

"I miss you.. a lot." I told her without hesitation

".............What?" she paused before speaking

"Garcia, today.. I wanna apologize for handling you like that towards the end. I wanna apologize actually for the other night. For .." I couldn't finish. I chickened out. What would Garcia think of me? if I told her the truth, after lying. Would I lose a great friend? I didn't wanna chance it

"For? what happened the other night?" Garcia questioned with concern in her voice

"nahh, nevermind. I just want you to act normal with me again. I don't like this New Garcia. Acting as I don't exist, as if im not your hot stuff chocolate thunder" I said sweetly at the end in a teasing voice

She couldn't help but to laugh.

"Derek Morgan you big baby. I love you" She gasped at the end because she couldn't believe she let that slip

We were quiet for a minute. Did she mean that? Did she really love me or just love me in a friendly way?

"Penelope.."

"Derek" she said softly in an embarrassed tone

"I love you too" I responded in an appealing voice

It was like I could hear Garcia smiling through the phone. Her smile must of been ear to ear because when she let out a short laugh of happiness I could hear the smile.

" Wow.." she said and sniffled

"Whats wrong?" I asked

"Nothing, I... I just didn't know it was possible"

I laughed some "What do you mean? You're my baby girl." I smiled

"Why did it take us so long to confess?" she asked

"I don't know.. Im glad that we finally did though." I made a kissy sound

she laughed and made one back

"So what now?"

Hearing her say that kind of scared me. I had forgotten all about Prentiss, work, the team, work. I didn't know what to say to her. I didn't know what to say at all. Suddenly I heard a knocking at my door. I looked over at it.

"Uh hold on Penelope, someones at my door" I said as I grabbed my gun and walked toward my door slowly

"At 2:40 in the morning?" Garcia said curiously

I made way to my door and looked out my peep hole. There standing in the rain was Emily. "Damn"

"What? who is it?" Garcia asked responding to my 'damn'

"Yeah mama its just a fallen tree or something. Imma um talk to you later today. I'll see you at work" I said before hanging up. That was close, I got outta that bind of having to answer Garcia's question. I opened the door to let Prentiss inside. She came in and I closed the door behind me leaning against it some.

"Do you know what time it is? No call before, you just show up?" I said with a annoyance in my voice

Emily stepped towards me "Morgan I'm pregnant"

*****the rummble of thunder plays in the backround from the thunderstorm outside*****
