Lena's POV

"So what can I get you both?" I say happily for this little Mariana is sooo cute and she's a real fresh breath of air.

"Can I have pancakes?" Mariana says smiling at me so widely.

"Honey, how do we ask?" Stef says, correcting her daughter.

"Ooops! Can I have pancakes, please?" she says correctly as I can't help my smile when I look at her. She's just the sweetest.

"Of course, you can. Chocolate chips?" I ask.

"Yes!" she says, lifting her little arms in the air.

"What about you Stef?" I say now looking at the mother. I was sure she was a hard nut to crack, but I'll get to her eventually as she stares at me not saying anything at all.

"Mommy likes pancakes too, but without chocolate chips though. She likes orange juice, and milk and..." Mariana starts to go on and on as Stef widen her eyes.

"Okay, okay, honey. I got this. Pancakes with chocolate chips are fine Lena. Thank you." Stef says now as I smile at her playfully.

"I'll make them without chocolate chips especially for you, my friend." I tease, for I kind of love the little look she gives me when I try to piss her off as she sighs again.

"What are you having Lena?" Mariana asks with her tiny little voice now as I look at her smiling.

"Oh, same as you, honey. Those are my favorites." I say to her as it looks like her little brain exploded at that.

"Oh really?? It's my favorite too!!" she says so damn excited for so little which I love so damn much... I swear if I could have kids just like that...

----------

During breakfast, Stef didn't talk much. Mariana in another hand was chatterbox. She told me about her favorite cartoon, her favorite color, which is yellow, her favorite animal and all her other favorite things.

It was so damn nice to hear her chat my ears off. I live alone and other than women moans when I have one over, there's no noise in that house at all, and when it's a child... I mean... it's literally a dream. I want children... I just haven't found the right person yet.

Sure, I could do it alone for I have the mean to, but... I don't know... I want to start a family with someone, with a partner. If it's just me... I would find it a bit sad.

Anyway, after breakfast, I suggest that Mariana could go take a bath which Stef went to give to her. Once she was finished, I told Stef she could take a bath too, and after a little resistance as always, she accepted.

So now I'm with Mariana playing with the only doll that she has that was in the bags we brough home last night...

It breaks my heart because I have everything and I always did, but this little girl... she's so sweet and innocent, she deserves the world, yet, she's happy with so little as an old doll...

"Mariana, come on. Say goodbye. We're going now." Stef then say, coming up behind me as we were in the living room, with her two bags in her hands.

"Already?" Mariana says as I look to Stef, that doesn't even dare meet my eyes.

"Wait. Mariana, stay here for a minute, please. I'm gonna talk to your mother a second, is that okay with you?" I say quickly as the little girl smiles and nods at me.

So I motion to Stef to get a bit away from the living room so that we could talk in private. And though she doesn't seem to want to, she followed me.

"Thank you for your hospitality, we appreciated it, Lena. Now we have to go." She says, not letting me the time to start talking.
