Stef's POV

Ten days later and it was Christmas already. It went so fast that I barely had the time to see it coming.

Fortunately, Mariana made her list pretty quickly so that I knew what to get her, and Lena did the extra with the bunch of presents she got her when we went to buy everything together.

For the most part, Lena understood that I didn't want her to go crazy with the gifts and though we made a very clear list, she couldn't help herself, and I haven't been able to stop her when she decided to get two more gifts for my girl. I couldn't get upset with her though. She looked so happy to be able to make Mariana happy, and she seemed like she was having so much fun purchasing all those things. In the toy store, she would push every little button she would see to see what noise it would do, how it would move and all.

It was fun but that alone made me realize that her childhood has been very bad and that she didn't grew out of it like I did. I didn't get much toy either, but I just say to myself that it's too late and that I just can do better for my kids, but Lena looks like she still feels like she has been missing out, which in fact she did.

It was making me so sad, and I wanted her to have a very good Christmas this year, and it started three days ago when we made the Christmas tree with her and Mariana. We had a lot of fun, and we were all smiling ear to ear. We decorated the house a little as well, and Mariana is a little ball of excitement by now.

Last night we ate a very good meal, and we watched a Christmas movie the three of us before putting Mariana to bed. She actually wanted both me and Lena to tuck her in this time and I saw what this alone did to Lena's heart. She succeeds at not crying, but I could see she was very touched that my little girl is getting so attached to her.

If I'm honest it scares me a little, because what will happen when we will leave... Mariana loves Lena now, and I can see Lena is crazy about her as well, but we can't stay here forever. Lena needs her space; she will need her life back at some point... When I first met her, she literally said that she was sleeping with a different woman every night, and since we are here, I never saw anyone which mean she's putting her life on hold for us.

"Mama! Mama! It's Christmas! It's Christmas!!" I hear Mariana say with such excitement as she jumps on my bed a few times barely giving me the time to open my eyes before she jumps out of it.

"I'm gonna get Lena!" she says before running out faster than ever. I didn't even have the time to get up to go after her so she wouldn't wake Lena up, in case she wanted to sleep a bit more.

"Lena! Lena! Get up! It's Christmas!" I hear Mariana yelled in Lena's room as I slowly rub my eyes and get out of my bed to go in Lena's room, to get Mariana if Lena wants to sleep in.

"Hey baby. Come give me a kiss first." Lena says in a sleepy voice as she's still under the cover and no need to tell Mariana twice for she just jumps in and literally throw her little body on Lena's to hug her and kiss her cheek.

"Aww, best Christmas morning ever." Lena says as she hugs my little girl affectionately as I just watch them interact because it just warms my heart like nothing else.

"Me too! Mama come with us!" Mariana says as I got all awkward for some reason.

"Oh honey, it's... it's Lena's bed, I..." I say, hesitantly even though I admit that it looks comfy and sweet to be part of this little morning greet.

"Oh Stef, get your butt in here!" Lena says making Mariana giggle, as I can't help the little smile that spread across my face.

"Okay..." I say, not wanting to give away that I was dying to go with them, because it seems so nice.
