An unexpected meeting, our paths crossed,
With a simple "hi" you entered my world.
I never thought I would get so attached,
And someday it would hurt to release your hand.
Somehow we grew close without intending to,
Now I'm left alone searching for you.
Praying to catch a glimpse of you in the crowd,
'Cause everything feels foreign without you around.
Seeing your face became a habit of mine,
How foolish of me to think, with you gone, I'd be fine.
Now I search for you among countless stars,
Sitting by my window, feeling hollow with my scars.
Laughing and teasing each other, I grew comfortable,
And accustomed to your presence, now I'm unable
To move on, yet you're gone, and it's slowly sinking in.
It's not easy for me to be honest with my feelings.
All my life I learned to hide behind my walls,
I apologize if my actions ever caused you hurt.
Letting go of someone close is not the easiest thing to do,
But the only choice left is to let go of you.
Your smile is radiant, your eyes aglow,
In your light, I can't help but feel small.
I linger in shadows, longing to be near,
As envy softly whispers, watching you disappear.
I tried to think positively, I truly did,
Yet breaking habits is not an easy bid.
So with a heavy heart, I bid you adieu,
And reluctantly let go of your hand too.
