PRATHAM'S POV

Everyone has a different perspective on their life, but mine was different and destroyed. I never wished to live in this world.

My life revolves around my work and family; only they are the reason for me to live; otherwise, I can't live my life.

I do my best to get busy with my hectic schedule and don't get time to think about anything, especially that one incident that changes my life.

That brutal night, where I almost lost myself in that darkness, I still can't get my older version of myself.

I feel like everyone is happy in their life, but I know they always get worried about me. I never wanted this life for me.

I just wanted a peaceful life without any worries, living in mountains or in a peaceful place but life turned and changed my life completely without any warning.

I keep resting my head on the chair while closing my eyes, thinking about everything. A book is resting on my chest.

Right now I was sitting in my study room. I have a habit of not sleeping without completing five pages of the book.

"Puru,"

I slowly opened my lashes without moving from my place; she is Maa; only she will come to check whether I slept or not?.

"It's late, Puru,"

She muttered in a low voice, coming towards me. She stood beside me and slowly placed her hand on my hair and started lightly caressing it. I took a deep breath, feeling her loving touch.

"I know Maa,"

This is our daily conversation with each other she always comes into my room, and we talk about this.

"Then, why are you still reading the book?"

She questioned me with her fake angry face. I couldn't help but chuckle. She is the most innocent person in the world for me.

"Maa, you should sleep it's too late, I will, when I feel sleepy,"

I uttered and turned to look at her, her eyes hiding something inside them that no one can see.

"Please, puru,"

She said in a pleading tone, I signed and slowly nodded my head, a sweet smile appeared on her smile.

I shook my head and placed my hand on the armrest and stood up from the chair.

I closed the book and put the book on the shelf, I turned around and moved towards the door, Maa followed me.

"Puru, why do you always sleep this late?,"

Maa asked, I smiled and turned to face her, she is making a weird expression, I chuckled and put my hands in my pocket.

"Maa, this has become my habit I can't help it,"

I replied and got inside the room, I usually don't prefer to sleep earlier because that causes me trouble even more.

"Okay, there is a glass of turmeric milk, drink it before you go to sleep okay," She stated in a serious voice, telling me everything clearly, I nodded and sat on the corner of the bed.

"And one more thing, I think you should get married, Puru, maybe she will change the perspective of your life,"

She added the main point of the day, I already know what's coming and here it is, the best and most important topic is my marriage.

"Maa, you already know I'm not interested in why you keep getting impatient about my marriage,"

I said calmly, she is always worried about us, that if we turned thirty one no one will give their daughter or sister.
