<Pyrrha PoV>

I observed the tense situation in the room as we got ready for the morning.

Unable to continue this oppressive atmosphere, I finally decided to end the argument. "The Superiors are not demons, here to kill people, Jaune."

Before Nora could show a triumphant expression, I continued, "But they are not Gods either."

Now both of them were frowning at me. "They're people like you and me, who just have ....a uniquely powerful Semblance."

Nora bounced up to me and asked, "How would you know?"

I just pulled out my Scroll, and dialed a number. The rest of the team watched curiously, trying to understand my action.

After a Mistralian operative discerned that it was truly me, he forwarded the call to my friend.

As my call was finally picked up, I said, "Hey, Saphron! Do you have some time?"

I watched, with no little amount of satisfaction, as the rest of my team paled.

Why?

 Because I had just called Mistral's Superior. And she picked up.

<Ruby POV>

I couldn't believe it. Just a day and trouble was already here.

Maybe I just wasn't fit to be a leader in the first place.

<Three hours earlier>

"I wish to duel you, Ruby Rose!"

Weiss was standing opposite to me, early in the morning, rapier in hand.

"W-What? Why?" I asked.

"Because you are a childish little girl, who lacks respect and authority, who does not excel, and who is simply not fit to be a team leader!"

Her words hurt. Maybe because I had been thinking them too, when Ozpin declared me as the team leader of RWBY.

"If I win, you will ask Ozpin to be removed from the team leader position, and insist that I be made team leader. If you win, I will quietly follow you as an obedient teammate. What say you, Ruby?"

It would be very simple to just refuse this. To act as if this didn't matter. This wasn't Atlas, where duels between students were taken seriously.

But...if I refused this, Weiss would always have this resentment against me. We would never really be a team.

Despite being aginst it, I accepted her duel.

<Current time>

And now here I was.

Standing in a raised arena with Miss Goodwitch presiding our duel, because apparently, things like this were common, especially after the exchange programs began.

Weiss raised her weapon. I recited what I knew about her weapon in my mind.

'Myrtenaster. A high quality Multi-Action Dust rapier. It has a revolver like chamber around the ricasso instead of a hand guard. It's highly durable, despite it's thinness. What I have to watch out for was the revolver mechanism filled with various Dust types.'

'With her Glyphs, Weiss can also control the Dust to do various other things like that time in the Forest.'

I gripped Crescent Rose tightly, before taking a deep breath.
