'The Vytal festival.'

'It is based on a treaty signed on the island of the same name.

Every two years, one of the four kingdoms is chosen to host the Vytal festival and the tournament.'

'All four academies send their finest teams to compete in the tournament, as a show of solidarity- BS.'

"Hey fearless Leader! Whatcha reading?" an excited voice rang out.

My relationship with Ren and Nora was much better now, than compared to the first day.

"Nothing much. Just reading about the Vytal festival." I replied.

"OOHH! This is the one where we get to break people's legs legally!" Nora exclaimed

"I'm concerned that's how you remember the festival that is supposed to encourage unity and peace."
Well, she's not wrong. As long as it's during the fight, and an accident, injuries aren't punishable offences.

I knew Ozpin would send us to represent Beacon, and of course, Team RWBY. Maybe CRDL and an older team as well.

Not to be overconfident, but after observing some teams that had already begun trickling into Vale, I could say we were already set to win.

'The security duties were given to Atlas. I can tell that much from the sheer number of Atlesian Knight-47 robots patrolling the streets. And the Bullheads in the sky. They're really going all out.'

'The fact that the Hidden One is awake is being kept a secret. Has Ozpin spied a mole?'

<General PoV>

As the Vytal Tournament approached, no one noticed the two figures sneaking into the Cross Continental Transmissions Tower, each cloaked in two layers of illusion.

<Ruby PoV>

"We're up first! AHHHH! I'm so excited to show off my baby to everyone!" I said, cradling Crescent Rose in my arms.

"Would it kill you to act normal?"

Of course, it was Party Pooper Weiss who said that.

"I'll have you know, I am perfectly normal! You are the weird one, who was trying to put weird opera music on during the Beacon Dance!"

It was true. Weiss genuinely wanted to put on 'classical' music, during the Dance where a bunch of other teams from other Academies were going to attend.

Thankfully, Yang saved our reputation by taking music duty and giving Weiss decorations.

As Weiss fumed, I thought about the future.

'Ah, life is good! Nothing can go wrong now!'

With those words, I remembered what I had seen a while back, in that Darkness, and my mood sank again.
