I walked up the huge path to her best friend's house, her backpack hanging off my left shoulder. her blonde hair falling over my face in a messy bun.

"CAMI," Carlos came running up to me, wrapping his arms around me. I laughed, picking him up and spinning him around. "Hey Carlos," I responded quickly, putting him down. "Carlos Monolia, leave my best friend alone." Julie walks out of her house and pushes Carlos out the door, hugging me. "Hey Jules, why did you want me?" I smile.I am going to clear mom's studio today." I smile and hug her tightly. We stayed silent. Carlos had walked back inside, so Julie and I just stood hugging for what felt like forever. Julie pulled away first. "Shall we?" I followed after her. "Oh, Jules, I love the slippers," she laughs, putting her arm over my shoulder as we walk through the garden and to the large white double doors. Julie takes a deep breath and pulls them open, standing and staring at the darkened room. I placed my hand reassuringly on her shoulder, and together we walked through and switched on the light. She steps away, looking around the room and walking to the grand piano, pulling off the white sheet. I wander to the coach, sitting down and watching as Julie sits on the piano bench, silently staring at the ceiling.

"I'm sorry I've not been out here, mom."

I sigh, and she stands up. "Attic first," I nod and walk to her, giving her another tight hug, and then walk to the attic, climbing the old ladder to the top and standing against the barrier as Julie joins me. We look around at all the old interments and clothing up here. "This is a mess," I say, making Julie laugh. It was here when we moved in," she laughed. We keep looking around, moving bits around, when we find an old CD. "What's'sunset urve'?" I say, reading the cover, and she shrugs. "I don't know, let me see." I hand her the CD, and she climbs back down the ladder. I watch from the attic as she places the CD in the player and presses play.

Countdown till we blast open the top.

I jokingly start dancing along, bouncing my head to the beat, making Julie laugh. The music is suddenly covered with the sound of screams overlapping. I cover my ears quickly, as does Julie, as we frantically search the room for any signs of people yelling. There's no one around. The screams get louder and closer until there's a white flash next to Julie, making me duck behind the banister. The screams stop and fade to groans of pain as three boys stand up next to Julie. She looks at me, then the boys, and then screams. The boys scream as well, with the two on the end clinging to the one in the middle as they scream, jumping up and down. I join in on the on the screaming, making the boys look up at me and continue screaming. I clamber down the ladder and drag Julie out of the studio, still screaming as we run past her dad and brother.

"Wow girls, calm down! You look like you've seen a ghost!"

"WE HAVE"

"cool"

"not cool"

"RUN"

We continue screaming and running through her house until we reach her room and stare at the window, terrified. I couch Julie's arm, shaking it lightly. "Jules..." she looks over at me. "Yea," she says, shaking. "WHAT JUST HAPPENED?" I scream. "I DONT KNOW," she screams. In response, we continue to yell over each other until her dad comes in "girls." We jump and stare at him. I take a heavy breath and flop onto Julie's bed.

"I just wanted to make sure you girls were okay!"

"You don't believe us, do you?" I say sitting up quickly.

he sighs

"Let's just drop it," Julie says quickly.

"ok dropped"

Julie's dad leaves the room, and Julie looks at me and nods, taking one last deep breath before grabbing the cross of her wall and walking out of her room. I jump up, following after her. "Jules? .....JULIE!" I run down the stairs of her house and follow her through to the studio, where she lifts the cross and slowly enters the room, scanning for the boys again. "Are you still here? whatever you are?" no response. "We know we saw something. We aren't crazy," I say. "Well, we're all a little crazy," a voice says from behind us, making us jump again, and Julie screams, shaking her crucifix in front of her. I flinch, and I grab her hand, pulling the crucifix down.

"Please stop screaming," one of the boys says, looking at Julie. "Jules, calm down." I turn her to face me. "It . is. ok," I say, shaking her on each word. She sighs and turns to the boys. "Who are you, and what are you doing in my mom's studio?" She says, "Yeah, what are you doing in her mom's studio?" I respond by looking at them and pointing around the room.

Your mom's studio? This is our studio. Trust me, my... the grand piano is new, and... and... and... my couch!" He hops onto his couch, and Julie holds her crucifix out again. I roll my eyes and hop onto the edge of the piano, watching the boy look around the room. "That is definitely not my six-string. Can you give me just one second?" The boy walks to Julie, but she threatens him with the crucifix, making him back away. "Just give me a second. Thank you," he says, looking back at his friends. "Guys, what is going on? How did she get her stuff in here so fast?"

Julie turns to me and says, "Who are they? What is going on, Cami?" I shrug. I don't know, but holding up the crucifix isn't doing anything weirdo." I snatch it off of her just as the boys turn around. "Why are you in our studio?" The blonde-haired boy turns around. Julie tries to punch him, but her fist goes straight through. "Oh my gosh! How did you do that?" she says to the guy. "Jules, how did you do that?" the boys sigh. "Clearly, they don't get it. We were ghosts alright, three ghosts, and we are happy to be home. So, thank you for the flowers. They really brighten up the room." I look at Julie, who looks pale as...well as a ghost. except these ghosts look like people, not ghosts at all. "What?" I say.

"We're actually in a band called Sunset Curve."

Tell your friends." The third boy says this, leaning over his friend's shoulder.

"Last night was supposed to be a really big night for us. It was going to change our lives." The main guy steps forward, talking to us pretty seriously. "I'm pretty sure it did," one of them whispers. I pull out my phone. "What is that? Who are you calling?" The boys are panicked. Julie looks at me and says, "I'm googling sunset swerve." I say, "SUNSET CURVE," and the boys yell in unison. "Omg.. Jules look." Julie leans over my shoulder, looking at my phone.
