"You'll do great"

After I left Cami at her school, I decided to visit my parents. The second I arrived at the house, I felt a twinge of sadness. I had visited a few times recently, but this time felt different. I walked through the door and looked around. My mom was sitting knitting; she was wearing her green cardigan. the one she wore the night our fight, the night I ran away.

I turned away and walked to my old room; nothing had changed; my old posters were still hung on the wall; the colours had worn down, but they were still recognisable. I look around and laugh slightly. "This really was the room of a rockstar." I feel a tear fall from my eye and wipe it quickly. I walk back through to my mom. I watched her for a while; she just knits. Eventually, I look at the clock: 3:34. Julie will be home soon. I give my mom a soft kiss on the head and poof to Julie's studio.

Me and Reggie continue working on our song. We started from one of Julie's poems. When Julie walks in, "Guys, what are you doing?" she says. Reggie smiles. "Writing a song from this poem we found. Julie looks up. "Where'd you get that? she says. She starts chasing me around the piano. "Definitely not from your dream box," Reggie e says. I roll my eyes. "You went through my stuff?" She says, "Yeah, we can do that now."

"Reg, stop talking," I yell.

"No, you can't set boundaries!" she yells

"Give that back," Julie yells. I stand on the piano bench. "No! You need to know how insanely talented you are, Julie." Listen to this: " I sing our melody for the poem, and Reggie sings the echo.

"Oh, oh," Julie laughs.

"I wrote that about Flynn when she was helping me with all my mom's stuff, she said. She sighed and walked out.

"Where did you vanish off to earlier?" Reggie said, looking at me.

"nowhere important"

Later, we are rehearsing the song with Julie when someone knocks on the door. Julie answers, and from behind the door, we can hear some quiet sobs. "Cami?, what's wrong?" she says. I rush to see if she's ok poofing behind Julie. The second I look at her, I know something is wrong. Her cheeks are bright red and stained with tears. She locks eyes with me and bursts into tears. I want to run and give her a hug, but Julie gets there first, pulling her inside and onto my couch.

Julie manages to calm Cami down, and she starts talking about everything that seemed to be weighing her down. I listen closely when I hear my name: "And Luke was mad and left me at school, and then I got into a fight with Carrie when I was already nearly crying about the boys." I look away. I didn't think about how it would affect her; I just wanted to get away.

Julie gives Cami a hug, and I lean in after her hugging her too, then Alex and Reggie join in. We stay quiet for a while, letting Cami and Julie talk. Cami is eventually calm, and just as we are about to teach her the song, Flynn knocks on the door. "Stall flynn il teach cami," I say, pulling her to the side of the room. I teach her the harmonies for the number and hand her the lyrics "cami." I say she looks up. "You'll be great," I whisper before kissing her cheek and walking away. When I look back at her, she's blushing, which makes me laugh slightly.

As we perform the song, she nails it perfectly; her angelic voice blends perfectly with Julie; and during her solo, she stands with me, using my mic. I feel her lean into me as I stum the chords; she pulls away just as her solo finishes dancing with Flynn and Julie. I watch in awe; she's so gorgeous when she sings and dances. She looks genuinely happy.

For the last section, she locks eyes with me, smiling.

"My life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo without you."

Do the lyrics mean anything about eye contact? What is going on?
