Forever Beside You

Part 5

Dunk was greeted by both Joke's parents as soon as he entered the house.

"Dunk sweetheart. It's been so long. Don't you love your mae anymore?" Joong's mother asked as she hug Dunk tightly. Dunk also hugged her back. Since Dunk was friends with Joong and Joke from childhood their parents also bacame friends. Joong's parents loved Dunk as much as they loved their sons. Joong's mother even insisted Dunk to call her mae.

"Oh mae, Don't say like that. I missed you so much. I was busy with work."

"I know. Final year is the hardest right. But please visit me if you have free time. I missed you too." Mrs Ayadin said as she pinched Dunk's cheeks.

"If you didn't see mom, you own son also came home." Joke said as he sat in the kitchen table.

"And you mr. Why don't you bring my son-in-law with you. I only met him about three times." She said pouting and glaring at the same time. Joke wondered where she learn to to that.

"I'll soon bring him to stay with you forever." Joke said smiling and Dunk again felt the familiar uneasy feeling in his stomach.

"Mae, is Joong in his room. I brought his lecture notes." Dunk said standing up.

"oh yes. He is in the room. Sweety, can you take this porridge to him. He didn't eat anything for the whole day." Joong's mom asked showing him the porridge bowl that on the kitchen counter.

"Sure mae. I'll make sure he drink it all." Dunk took the porridge bowl and headed to the upstairs. He stood in front of Joong's room. He didn't know what exactly he was going to said to Joong. He didn't know if Joong was still mad at him or not. He was afraid that Joong would chase him away.
Dunk knocked on the door nervously.

"Come in" Heard from the other side. Dunk entered hesitantly.

Dunk saw Joong looking at him surprised. He closed the door and waited at the door.

"Dunk?" Joong didn't know what to say.

"I- I brought you the lecture notes for today. And your mom gave the porridge on the way." Dunk said still standing at the door.

"Okay, but why are you standing at the door?"

Dunk slowly went towards Joong's bed.

"How did you get sick?" Dunk put the notes and the porridge on bedside table.

"I don't know. I was fine the other day and yesterday I was sick."

"Here, drink this. You'll feel better." Dunk took the porridge and hand it to Joong. Joong took it reluctantly and sipped it slowly. Dunk looked at him for a moment and decided it would be best time to talk.

"Listen Joong, I wanted to apologise to you for what happened on the other day." Dunk said looking down. Joong stopped drinking and looked at Dunk. Dunk kept talking without looking at Joong.

Dunk told Joong about Ryu transferring to their college. Then he told him what Joke told about him and Ryu. Joong looked annoyed hearing Ryu's name. But he didn't said anything to Dunk. He waited until Dunk finished.

"I'm sorry for getting angry and slapping you." Dunk said at the end.

"Well, It's not really your fault. I had the problem with Ryu. Not you. So it was unfair of me to get angry at you. And I am so wrong to call you a slut. I didn't even think of your feelings at that moment. I am sorry too." Dunk looked at Joong and nodded. For both of them it felt like they got rid of from a heavy weight. Both felt ease in their hearts. They were talking about their upcoming exams when Joke came in.

"Dunk, I'm going back now. Are you coming." Joong's face fell hearing that. But he hid it well. He didn't want Dunk to left yet.

"I don't think mae will let me go without having dinner." Dunk laughed remembering how demanding their mother can be.
