For me, Valentine's Day has always generated a strange range of feelings. Romantic dinners, flowers, and chocolates are not the only things that matter. It's about knowing that you are someone's special someone, about being warmly loved, and about feeling appreciated. However, Valentine's Day this year was about to take a surprising turn.

I couldn't help but smile when I saw my adoring lover, Jungkook, sitting on the couch and staring at the TV when I first entered our apartment. I had to clear my throat to let him know I was here, because he was so focused on the TV.

I said hello and left my stuff by the entrance. "Hey, babe." Jungkook turned to face me, his eyes brightening as he noticed me."Hello, my love. How did your day go?"

I moved to approach him, letting out a sigh. "It was simply another day at work, nothing special. However, a strange thing happened." With a raised eyebrow, Jungkook showed his curiosity. "Oh, I see. What happened?"

I reached into my bag for the arrangement of flowers and handed it towards him. "A coworker gave these to me today. It seems to be a Valentine's Day tradition."

As he took the flowers, Jungkook's attitude somewhat changed, with a flash of something unreadable in his eyes. He said, "Oh, that's nice" but I could hear the pressure beneath his words.I felt his discomfort and chose to confront it directly. "Kookie, is everything alright?"

He looked away for a bit before looking back at me. He answered, "Yeah, yeah, everything's fine" but his fake smile revealed his true feelings.I furrowed my brows, worry rising within me. "Are you sure? You seem a bit... strange."

With a groan, Jungkook went through his hair. "It simply is..." He trailed off, trying to think of the correct phrase."Exactly what?" I reached out and cupped his cheek, tugging him gently. He inhaled deeply and gazed at me, his eyes softening. "I suppose I just... I dislike the concept of someone else gifting you flowers, especially on Valentine's Day."

My heart skipped a beat as he confessed, and warmth surged through me as I realized he was jealous. I whispered, "Oh, Kookie" and leaned in to give him a little kiss on the lips. "There's nothing to be concerned about. You are the only one I want."A faint smile pulled at his lips, but his eyes still held a glimmer of worry. "It's just, you know..."

He was on his feet before I could finish speaking, grabbing the bouquet out of my hands and throwing it into the garbage can with more energy than was necessary. Then, to my amazement, he vanished into our bedroom, leaving me standing there completely confused.A few seconds afterward, Jungkook came back and presented me an exquisite arrangement of flowers. With admiring eyes, he whispered, "I got you something too."

I blinked, startled, my heart exploding with his adoration. I whispered, shaking my hands as I took the bouquet, "You didn't have to."

With a proud smile playing on his lips, he shook his head. "I wanted to. "These are for you."

I was struck with a wave of emotions as soon as I saw the extravagant bouquet. As I became aware of Jungkook's love for me and how far he would go to make me feel unique, tears began to well up in the corners of my eyes. With my voice strangled with passion, I muttered, "These are... they're amazing."Jungkook pulled me in by wrapping his arms around me. He mumbled against my hair, "I just wanted to show you how much you mean to me."
