The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam became an escape for art lovers, allowing me to lose myself in the beautiful colors and intense brushstrokes of Vincent van Gogh's masterworks. Every painting in the hallways appeared to come to life before my eyes as I strolled about, revealing tales of pleasure and sadness, love and longing.

I was so caught up in the beauty of the artwork that I almost missed the boy standing next to me, staring at the same picture that had drawn my attention—a vivid swirl of yellow and blue that gave the impression that it was dancing over the canvas.

I caught a glimpse of him from the corner of my eye and saw the depth of his stare and the thoughtful look on his face. I felt attracted to him for an unexplained reason and there was something familiar about him.

I could feel him floating next to me as I went on to the next piece, our footsteps connecting as we strolled around the gallery. Our mutual appreciation of art and beauty seemed to bind us together like an unseen thread.

I hesitated to leave the museum's sanctuary behind as I lingered near the exit when I eventually made it to the end of the exhibit. However, just as I was about to go, I felt a tap on my shoulder. Upon turning, I saw the boy standing there, his lips hesitantly smiling.

Saying "hi" he said in a nice, quiet voice. "I couldn't help but notice that our likes in art appeared to be comparable. Oh, and my name is Namjoon". I returned his smile, filled with joy at the unexpected encounter. I said, "Hello, Namjoon" my heart racing in my chest. "My name is Y/N. Nice to meet you"

Namjoon grinned more, and before I realized it, we were chatting, our words coming out naturally as though we had been friends for a long time. He shared with me his enthusiasm for music and art, which was evident in everything he said.

I found myself pulled to Namjoon's genuine warmth and effortless charm during our conversation. I felt instantly comfortable with him, as though I had known him my entire life, because of the warmth in his eyes and the sincerity in his speech.

Before we knew it, the museum was about to close, and we were standing outdoors in the gentle light of the lowering sun. We sadly said our goodbyes, promising to stay in contact and crossing our fingers that we might meet paths once more in the future.

However, just as I was about to go, Namjoon shouted out to me in a voice that was both hopeful and uneasy. "Y/N, hold on" he murmured as he stepped in my direction. "I want to stay in contact with you. Could you give me your phone number? Perhaps we could meet up once more"

As the scenario dawned on me, I hesitated momentarily. This boy, this stranger from the museum, was requesting my telephone number in order to get in touch with me once more. I had never experienced such mixed feelings as being excited and afraid to expose myself to someone I hardly know. However, there was something about Namjoon that I couldn't quite put my finger on and it pulled me in. So, with a grin on my face and a flutter in my heart, I took out a piece of paper from my bag and wrote my name and phone number on it before giving it to him.

Namjoon grabbed the paper from me, his smile turning into a grin as his eyes brightened with appreciation. He said, "Thank you, Y/N" with a genuine tone. "I'll definitely be in touch"

And with that, we said our goodbyes, leaving open the possibility of keeping in touch in the future. The recollection of our conversation lingered in my head, exciting and opening up new possibilities as I walked home.

As I wandered around the streets of Amsterdam, I had no idea that Namjoon was a South Korean living half a world away from the small museum where we had first met.

I couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead for Namjoon and me as I went to sleep that night—a fortuitous meeting that had sparked a connection, a stroke of fate that had filled our lives with possibilities—but fate has a curious way of bringing people together.
