He forgets to pick you up - as your boyfriend

The rain had been falling consistently and heavily for hours, turning the night into a mist of chilly water that covered the lights. The wind just made the chill that had crept into my bones even worse, and every drop felt like a needle against my skin. I tightened my coat on me, although it provided little protection at this point. My fingers were getting numb from the cold, and my hair was stuck to my face, thick and wet.

I took another quick peek at my phone and prayed that Jungkook would see my calls and messages. The same depressing message appeared as the screen lit up: there were no new notifications. I swallowed the knot in my throat and made an effort to control the tears that were about to fall. After more than sixty minutes of standing here, the truth of being forgotten was beginning to sink in more deeply than the rain.

The building behind me was closed and dark with each window contrasting with the dark, stormy night outside. There was nowhere to hide and no way out of the pouring rain. The only thing I could do to keep some warmth in my legs was to simply pace back and forth, but it was a losing battle. A thousand thoughts raced through my mind, each one worse than the last. Has anything happened to Jungkook? Was he alright? Was he just forgetting about me?

As soon as I thought I was absolutely hopeless, my phone started buzzing. In my hurry to check the screen, I almost dropped it. It was there: the name of Jungkook flashing in response to an incoming call. I shivered when I replied it right away.

"Jungkook?" "Y/N! I'm very sorry, I really am!" He spoke in a terrified and guilty tone. "I recently saw your missed calls and messages. I'm on my way now. Please, just be patient for a little longer"

The relief was obvious, but clouded by tiredness and a lasting anger. All I could say before the call ended was "Hurry" I was too tired to feel angry or upset. I was simply too cold and too exhausted.I was soaked and shivering as I waited for what seemed like hours. Unable to stand, I fell to the ground and leaned against the building's wall. The rain was still coming down hard, but my eyelids shut down, my body aching for any relief.Tires splattering in puddles was clear to me as headlights struck through the night.

I opened my eyes against my will and saw Jungkook's car approaching. Almost jumping out of the car, he came running towards me holding an umbrella that looked ridiculously little against the rain."Y/N!" With his voice almost audible over the storm, he shouted. "I truly apologize! Are you alright?"I attempted to reply, but my voice was hard to hear above a whisper. "Cold...so cold..."Jungkook's face affected with worry and shame as he carried me up into his arms, the warmth of his body contrasting sharply with the cold that had settled on me.

He quickly got me into the car, increased the temperature, and covered me with his coat.He continued saying, "I'm so sorry, Y/N" his voice shaking. "I don't know how I forgot...I'm so sorry" I wanted to reassure him that everything was well and that I was forgiving him, but I was too tired to continue the suffering. Raindrops mixed with tears on my cheeks, and I was unable to stop them. I was too exhausted to be proud, too worn out to keep my feelings to myself.

With his hand holding mine, Jungkook drove as quickly as he could while attempting to give me as much warmth and comfort as he could. His eyes showed me how unhappy he was, and though I wanted to comfort him, I couldn't find the right words.

We eventually made it to his place, where he took me and covered me in blankets before placing me in front of a heater. His hands shaking as he offered me a hot tea.

He sat next to me, brushing wet hair strands from my face, and murmured, "Please, forgive me. I should not have forgotten. I apologize so much, Y/N" I noticed the sincere regret in his eyes as I stared at him. I knew he was suffering too, so it wasn't fair to be upset, but I was so tired that I couldn't even be polite.

"I waited for an hour" I muttered under my breath. "In the rain...I thought you weren't coming" He responded, "I know" as tears welled up in his own eyes. "I apologize really. I will not let that happen again, I swear"

I felt the warmth of the hot beverage spreading through me as I nodded. The tears did not stop, but they now carried relief for being secure and taken care of. Jungkook stayed close by, holding my hand and mumbling apologies and promises.

Eventually, the tiredness overtook me, and I fell asleep in the bubble of warmth he had built. Though the storm continued to rage outside, I was finally safe indoors. With his arms wrapped around me, Jungkook provided me with a comforting safety that, despite his mistake, he was here and wouldn't give up on me.
