The waves gently swept at the coast, whispering secrets only the ocean knew, while the warm sun cast a golden glow over the sandy beach. I took a seat beneath a striped umbrella, which offered a refreshing break from the heat. This vacation was meant to be a time for me to relax, to take some time to myself and to find some peace. I had no idea it would be anything but typical.

I just finished my book, and the end had left me in a state of reflection. A bit more down the beach, I saw a bunch of guys as I put it down. Their laughter carried over the sands as they played volleyball. I was particularly drawn to one of them. His motions were muscular but elegant, his long hair pulled back in a casual bun. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but there was something familiar about him.

A off track volleyball rolled into my place just as I was ready to go back to daydreaming. The person with the bun rushed over, his smile charming and surprising. A beat skipped in my heart. Then he picked up the ball and said, "Hey, sorry about that!" His voice had a slight Korean accent but was otherwise smooth.

"Mind if I get this?""No issue at all" I grinned in return. "You guys seem to be having a lot of fun" "Yeah, we are" he replied, turning to face his pals. "We're on a break from work, so we're just trying to make the most of it" "What are you doing?" With his head scratching, he said, "Actually, we're artists"

"My name is Jungkook. And you?" My eyes grew wide with realization. Naturally, BTS! I had heard their music and seen their posters. "My name is Y/N. Jungkook, it's nice to meet you"His interest sparkled in his eyes. "Y/N. What a lovely name that is. Are you a local?" "No, I'm simply taking a holiday here. wanted to escape the city life"

"Same here" he responded, meeting my eyes. "Sometimes, you just need to escape, right?" "Definitely" I said. "So, what brought BTS to this beach? Don't fans supposed to be swarming you?" The tension in the air appeared to vanish when he chuckled. "We were able to sneak out without drawing too much attention. The beach is also quite isolated"

"That's great. Everybody needs a little private time" "With no doubt" he nodded. "Hey, are you planning to come along? We could need an extra player" I was hesitant, but I couldn't resist the genuine warmth in his gaze. "Sure, why not?" For the next hour, we played volleyball.

I laughed more than I have in months, and the guys were really nice and friendly. When we were placed together on the same team, Jungkook and I clicked right away and had a casual friendship that seemed to have existed for years. We all took a seat to relax as the sun started to set, stunning the sky with shades of pink and orange. Jungkook took a seat beside me, leaning his shoulder on mine. Even though it was just a slight contact, it gave me the chills.

"I've enjoyed this" I murmured, giving him a quick glance. "Thanks for inviting me" "I appreciate you being here" he softly said in response. "I'm glad we met" With a strange feeling of comfort, I grinned. "Me too" We watched the waves for a long while we sat in calm silence. I turned to face him because I could feel the weight of his stare.

Something was there, something strongly felt but unsaid. "Y/N" he said in a hesitating tone. "I know this might sound crazy, but... do you believe in fate?" I blinked as the question took me by surprise. "I'm not sure" I said. "Why?"

"Because... meeting you feels like more than just a coincidence" he observed, staring into my eyes. "I don't know what it is, but I feel like we were meant to meet today" His comments touched with a truth I had not realized until now, and my heart began to pound in my chest.
"I think... I think you might be right" His smile made my heart skip a beat—it was sincere and real.

"Can we stay in touch? I would adore to learn more about you" "That sounds good to me"
I said, barely raising my voice above a whisper. Just as we were exchanging phone numbers, the sun finally set, revealing a starry sky.

Everything about it—the beach, the laughter, the unexpected bond with Jungkook—felt like a dream, a lovely one that I hoped would last long after we said our goodbyes. I couldn't help but smile as I made my way back to my hotel, my phone humming with a message from Jungkook. Maybe maybe, timing had paired us up for a purpose.
