Chapter 9

Luna POV

I woke up bright and early today as I promised Bella that I will go out with her yesterday after Paul left. I stretched my aching muscles from working out at night, and went downstairs to see Dad cooking breakfast, and Mum feeding Prim. "Morning."

"Morning Lulu," Dad said as he turned over the bacon. "How did you sleep?"

"Like a baby," I answered, making Mum laugh. "But at least I don't wake you two up in the middle of the night."

"Well, you did before," Mum shot back. "Until you were two years old."

While Dad laughed and recalled what it was like when I was a baby, I scoffed. It is true that I did wake up my parents during the night a lot of times, but it was only because I got nightmares a lot from Grandpa's stories about the war. That is also probably one of the reasons why Mum and Dad broke contact with the family, but that is just my theory.

"Here you go sweetie, bacon with cheese and mushroom omelette," Dad said as he handed me the plate and kissed my forehead.

"Thanks Dad," I said as I sat down on the couch and started eating my breakfast. "So, what are your plans for today?"

"We have some plans with a friend of mine from work, we're going to join him and his family for a nice day out," Dad answered as he washed the dishes. "What about you? Planning on seeing your mate again?"

Dad smirked when he saw me blush. He knew from the beginning that having a mate is important to me, so when I told him and Mum that I found my mate he was ecstatic. Except for Mum because she wanted to meet him first before accepting him into the family. "No, I have plans with Bella."

"Oh," Mum said surprised as she stopped feeding Prim. "What are you two going to do? Since both of you like opposite things."

"No clue," I answered truthfully. To be honest, I'm worried. I'm worried as hell that Bella is going to plan something stupid and end up getting both of us hurt, and more precisely, me in trouble. I shook my head and scoffed down my breakfast before putting the plate into the sink and running upstairs to my room to wash up and get dressed into a pair of black leggings, a maroon long-sleeved shirt, a pair of sneakers, and a black leather jacket.

Liking what I saw in the mirror, I headed downstairs, grabbed my phone and keys, and exited the house to see Bella waiting for me in her truck.

I smiled at her as I got into the truck and hugged her before she started her rusty car and drove off to god knows where.

<20 minutes later>

I stared in worry at the view. Bella has taken us to a cliff overlooking the sea, and a very wild sea from the looks of it. "Bella, I don't we should be here."

But as you all probably know by now, Bella is someone that doesn't listen. I watched in horror as she took off her jacket and got ready to jump. And when she did, I screamed. "Bella no!"

I quickly took off my jacket when I saw a wave hit her and dived right after her. The current was strong against my small frame, as I tried to swim towards her.

I almost got her in my reach when another hit me and forced me to hit my head on the cliff.

The last thing I remember was being pulled out.

<1 hour later>

"Emily are you sure she's, okay?"

"Paul calm down, the stress is not good for her right now."

"No, what's not good for her is to be around Bella. And look what happened now!"

Getting tired of those loud voices, I groaned. "W....Where am I?"

"Angel!" I heard Paul exclaim and felt his hands gently touch my face. "Take it easy, you hit your head pretty badly."

"When....where's Bella?" I asked as I looked around the room, only to see no Bella or Jake.

"Jake took her home after he pulled her out," Sam answered with a gentle voice.

I nodded and slowly sat up, only to wince at the pain at the back of my head. "Hey, take it easy. Like I said, you got hurt pretty badly. You almost drowned Luna, if I didn't get to you on time."

"I'm sorry," I whispered. "I didn't mean to make any of you worry."

"Yeah, you're not the only one," Jared said with a hidden tone I couldn't figure out.

"What do you mean?" I asked as Emily gently applied an ice pack to the back of my head.

"Harry Clearwater had a heart attack," Embry answered.

"Is he okay?"

"He died," Sam answered, making me feel with dread, and worry. Even though I didn't know him well, I met him and his family twice. The moment I met his children, I knew they would turn. I could smell it from them that they will shift soon. "Sue is sleeping upstairs, while we're going to look for Leah and Seth."

"Why? What happened to Leah and Seth?" I asked Paul.

"They shifted," he answered shortly.

I looked at him in shock. I was about to ask another question when Jake came in.

"Jake, everything okay with Bella?" Sam asked as Jake looked from me to Sam. "Jake?"

"The Cullen's are back," Jake answered, making everyone stiff. "Bella left for Italy to save him."
