(I'm gonna try my best for this episode, I'm still super unsure how I'll write this lol)
Six Mooonths Later...
I fixed our mom's hair as Morty was finishing up vacuuming Dad. It was so hot outside, it's been like this for the last six months. I took Dad's cleaned shirt that we were gonna put on his and patted my forehead with it, sweat was running down my face. I want a lemonade. Something ice cold. Anything.
"Hurry up, guys. Grandpa's about to unfreeze time." Summer told us as she walked out of the house.
"We're almost done, just gotta vacuum Dad and put some clean clothes on 'im. God, it's so hot out here..." I said as I watched Morty finish up vacuuming our father. Summer looked down at our brother as he turned off the vacuum.
"Um... You really should be cleaning from top to bottom."
"I know how to vacuum Mom and Dad, Summer. I've been doing it for six months." Morty told her as he put the vacuum away.
"Then you've been doing it wrong for six months. Oh my god, is that mildew?!" She said and pointed at Dad's neck, there was a tiny spot on there, but couldn't make out what it was. Can't be mildew, can it?
"It's not my fault we froze time on a humid day!"
"Ugh, you have dropped so many balls, man. Do you ever get scared Grandpa Rick might make me his new sidekick?" She asked, teasing Morty, knowing that might upset him.
"What?! W-w-what kind of monster are you?"
"A competent one. And a cooler one that makes no mistakes."
"Summer, stop teasing our little brother." I said to her sighing as she looked at her freshly painted nails.
"Mm, can't. Won't. It's too easy, you should try it some time, Jules. It's fun." She smiled smugly before Rick walked out to meet us.
"Who cares about the-the things you guys are talking about? The whole point of freezing time was to stop giving a shi-shit. Put a shirt on your dumb dad, and let's get this dumb universe rolling. Let's do this thing." Rick said as he walked into the house, Summer and I trailed behind him as Morty put Dad's shirt on Dad before running inside with us. Rick then closed the door behind him and faced us.
"Alright, listen, you three. We froze time for a pretty long time, so when I unfreeze it, the world's time is gonna be fine but our time's gonna need a little time to, you know, stabilize."
"Our time is gonna be unstable?" Morty asked.
"What does that even mean?" I asked as Rick walked over to us.
"It means relax and stop being a pussy, Julia. Y'know I-I thought you learned that by now. It also means don't touch your parents or we could shatter into countless theoretical shards."
"What-"
"Wait a minute-"
"And awaaaaaaay we go!" Rick then pressed the button on the device. One second after he pressed the button, we heard yelling and a strange thud from outside. Sounded like someone had fallen and hit the ground. Uh-oh.
"Um... did we ever put that mattress under Mr. Benson."
"Shh!"
"Shush, Morty."
"Oh, shit."
"-A THING OR TWO ABOUT-... wait, what?..." Dad and Mom walked in, their angered expressions quickly turned to shock as they looked around the room, mildly lost and confused, "Wait, was the house... when we pulled up, I could've sworn the house was completely trashed..." Dad said as he put a hand on his forehead.
"Negative visualization, Jerry. Explains a lot about where you're at. Hi, sweetie." Rick said to Mom, waving and smiling.
"Hi, Dad." She said and walked over to hug Rick, who folded his arms and my siblings and I looked at her, avoiding her embrace, without trying to offend her, "Summer, Julia, Morty, are you ok?"
"W-we ju-just missed you a lot." Morty said to her, shrugging.
"Yeah, so much."
"Yeah, we missed you so much. Too much to hug you, though." Summer said as Rick pushed us back a little.
"Yeah it would literally destroy them. Now listen, why don't- why don't- uh, why don't you guys get a free Sunday ice cream? Get out there and get some ice creams. Here's $500 cash in unmarked monies. I'm just gonna put it on the floor and kick it on over to ya. You guys go nuts." Rick said and placed the money down on the floor and kicked it over to Dad, who seemed suspicious.
"This better not be a bribe. If I find a single thing out of place in this house, my love of ice cream won't save you. I'll get my jacket." Dad said before making his way to the stairs. Mom looked at him funny.
"Sweetie, is your shirt on backwards?" She asked him, making us all look at Dad gasping slightly, thinking we might be a bit screwed. Dad looked down at his shirt, frowning, before looking back at Mom again.
"Y-yeah. I like it this way. I'm not stupid." Dad said before walking up the stairs. We then sighed of relief as Mom walked up the stairs after Dad. That was kind of close.
"Man, that guy is the Redgren Grumbholdt of pretending he knows what's going on." Rick said as he took out his flask. Morty and Summer laughed at his comment, I didn't understand it.
"Oh, you agree, huh?"
"It's funny."
"You like that Redgren Grumbholdt reference?"
"Yeah." What, is that a Harry Potter character or something?
"Well, guess what? I made him up. You guys really are your father's children. Think for yourselves. Don't be sheep." Rick said as he walked away to go to the kitchen. I scratched my arm a little as I opened the front door, wanting to check on Mr. Benson because I am 75% positive that we put the mattress under it...
"Ok... I think Mr. Benson's dead." I said as I stared over at his unmoving body. It looks like he fell over a brick, something we should've moved.
"Crap, seriously?" Summer and Morty walked out of the house with me.
"See, look..." I said and pointed over to Mr. Benson. He was laying there, laying there like a starfish on his back. I bent down a little and looked at him closely.
"I don't think he's breathing." Summer said.
"Wait, should we check if he's got a pulse or something?" I asked.
"No, that's what Rick said we shouldn't do, right? No touching or else our time will be shattered in... shards?" Morty said.
"Oh, right." I said and stood up straight. I took out my phone to call an ambulance. Shit...
"I feel awful." Summer said.
"Me too, I feel so bad."
"Me too, but just to be clear... it was Summer's job to put the mattress under Mr. Benson, r-right, Jules?"
