Chapter Twenty - Rick Potion No. 9

"Please just let this work out." Morty said, we are thirty minutes in the dance and Jessica was dancing nonstop with Morty. Well, Morty was barely dancing, it was all Jessica. Morty couldn't help but stare as she went wild with her moves. Almost like a stripper without the poll... I guess Morty's the poll. She ran her hands through her hair and spun around, hugging Morty again.

"Ohhh! Do it, Morty! Do it!" She told him as she got on the floor, aiming her back at him... or her butt. Everyone stared in absolute shock as she did so. This is getting way out of hand.

"Oh my god."

"Rip my clothes off and mate with me for life!!!" She said to him, growling as she pounced a little on the floor, now I know this made Morty realize something was going on. This made him very uneasy.

"Oh my god, what is she doing?" One girl said, I think it was Tammy, or Maggie. One of her besties.

"Uh... can we maybe go somewhere more private?" Morty asked, she just continued to do what she was doing. Her friend walked over to Morty's side to confront her friend.

"Jessica, get a hold of yourself! Ughh... You don't deserve to carry Morty's genes!" She said, holding my brother the way Jessica was.

"Ok... Morty, we're going." I said, pulling him away from Jessica and her friend as I looked around and noticed that now everybody has been affected. Everybody had the same look. Even the rapper, who was rapping about loving Morty to death. Morty held my hand as I pushed him behind me, the crowd of students were closing in on us. They'd probably kill me to get to him. Suddenly Jessica's friend pushed me harshly me to the floor, making me lose my grip from Morty, before then leaping over to hug Morty. I winced, my ankle twisted but I don't think it's sprained or broken. Soon after, Jessica grabbed a handful of her friend's hair and pulled her down. Now everybody was fighting and grabbing at Morty. The crowd of students were smothering the both of us, Morty was screaming as I was trying to push my way through to find him. Once I did, I grabbed his hand and we ran out of the crowd and towards the gym doors where we noticed Rick holding the door for us.

"Morty, come on! We gotta get you out of here!" He shouted, Morty and I went through the doors and Rick closed the doors, locking it behind us. But we knew it wouldn't hold.

"You're not gonna believe this, this usually never happens but I made a mistake!" Rick said as he followed us down the halls. Morty slipped, trying to run the other direction after seeing another student at the other end of the hall. He picked himself up as he followed me, along with Rick.

"Come on, guys! We gotta get our of here, come on!" Rick shouted to us as we noticed a door to the principal's office opened up.

"Morty!" Principal Vagina shouted to him, before following us down the hall.

"Are you ok?!"

"I'm fine!" Morty said to him, seeing that the principal had that same crazy look in his eyes.

"Oh, good. If anything ever happened to you, I'd kill myself! I love you bad, Mo-Mo!" Everyone must be infected now, but why not Rick or me? Is it because we're related or something? We then turned the other corner and saw our exit. We heard shouting from behind us as the students and teachers were growing closer to us.

"Morty! The principal and I have discussed it, a-a-a-and we're both insecure enough to agree to a three-way!" Mr. Goldenfold shouted as he joined the crowd behind us. We then burst through the doors, running towards Rick's car.

"I didn't realize when I gave you that serum that Jessica had the flu." Rick said, jumping into the car, Morty and I hastily entered after, quickly shutting and locking the door as Rick struggled to start his vehicle up.

"Y-you know, t-t-t-t-that might've been valuable information for me, Morty."

"What the hell's going on, Rick?" I asked. The crowd surrounded the car, trying to get in. Like some kind of shitty zombie apocalypse.

"What does it look like? T-t-t-the serum is piggybacking on the virus, it's gone airborne!" He explained as the car started up, rising up from the parking lot. Some students held on, but not for long. Rick took this moment to pull out something from his pocket, a vial containing green glowing liquid.

"Oh crap! What are we gonna do, Rick?"

"We're gonna be fine, Morty. Relax. I whipped up an antidote. It's based on praying mantis DNA," he said as he poured the vial into his car, pressing a few buttons, "you know, praying mantises are the exact opposite of voles, Morty. I mean they-they mate once, and they they... you know, decapitate the partner. I mean, it's a whole ritual. It's really gruesome and totally opposite. There's no love at all. I-I-I basically mixed this with a more contagious flu virus. It should neutralize the whole thing, Morty. It'll all be over very shortly." Rick said as he lowered the car a little closer to the crowd, not too close so that they don't reach it. He then pressed a few buttons and suddenly a green mist shot out form under the car. Rick drove forward to infect the whole crowd with it.

"Uh, by the way, Morty. I know you didn't ask or anything, but I'm not interested in having sex with you. These serums, they don't work on anybody related to you genetically." Rick explained as we looked down at the crowd. The green mist disappeared and everyone started to calm down, the looks on their faces weren't crazed, now they are normal and confused. But that was just seconds before something crazy was happening. We watched in horror as everyone below us were screaming in pain, skin was tearing and there were green limbs popping out through their faces and clothing. Their whole bodies had completely changed into insane looking bug-like creatures... Praying mantises.

"Oh my god!" I exclaimed, throwing a hand over my mouth.

"Oh, boy. I guess science is more art than science, Morty. A lot of people don't get that." Rick said, before turning the car and driving off into the sky. Morty couldn't keep his eyes away from everything that was happening down there, I had to look away from it all. It was horrifying. Rick drove fast and far away from our home until we eventually found ourselves in the desert. Had to have been an hour drive or so. Morty and I hopped out of the car, seeing that the coast is clear. Rick was working on another serum, I was sitting on a rock looking up at the stars, trying my hardest not to think about what was happening, but it was impossible. Morty was watching a tv from Rick's car, seeing that its not just this place that's infected, but now the whole world is messed up. It traveled incredibly fast.

"Oh my god, Rick! The whole world is infected!"

"Yeah, it's pretty wild how fast that spread. I've really outdone myself."

"Outdone yourself?!" I asked.

"W-w-what-are-are you kidding me, Rick?! This is not ok! Not only do they all want to have sex with me, but, you know, now they want to eat me afterwards!"

"Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking. Mantises are the opposite of voles? I mean, obviously, DNA's a little more complicated than that. But you know what, kids? This right here's gonna do the trick. It's koala mixed with rattlesnake, chimpanzee, cactus, shark, golden retriever, and just a smidge of dinosaur. Should add up to normal humanity."

"I don't-- that doesn't make any sense, Rick." I said.

"How does that add up to normal humanity?"

"Geez, what, you want me to show you my math? I'm sorry-- a-are you the scientist or are you the kid that wanted to get laid? Now let's get back home and fix your mess."
