I remember- but I don't

Oralie's POV:

Kenric collasped and his eyes turned glassy, like he was staring into space.

It was so sudden, Oralie had no clue what to do. It surely would be over in a few minutes.

It wasn't Kenric sat there so long, so lifeless, she panicked and hailed Elwin to check if he was okay.

She'd held his hand the entire time, reading his emotions, making sure he was okay.

Elwin said "He's  fine, just a little in shock, nothing serious."

Oralie nodded but knew that the problem wasn't on the outside.

It was his emotions.

All of them. They were so, so, wrong.

There was too many emotions Oralie couldn't comprehend- so many of them bad, not so many good.

At first, it was shock and surprise. That slowly turned into curiousity, then happiness and determination, then fear.

Kenric was such a blurring mix of emotions, changing from second to second.

Fear

Anxiety

Shock

Heartbreak

Guilt

Oralie didn't want to leave his side, but she knew she had to. She had to get help. Kenric's emotions started to feel dull, and his body was limp and lifeless.

He wasn't dead, but he wasn't conscious.

Elwin was preparing an elixir to regain energy when the Council arrived.

Emery rushed in first, running to Kenric with his arms out.

He put his fingers on Kenric's temples, giving Oralie some relief.

Kenric will be okay, she thought, Emery is going to figure out what's wrong.

But that relief was short lasted. Emery had a frown on his face when he lifted his fingers, filled with confusion.

He looked at Oralie's panicked face and softened his expression.

"Don't worry, his mind isn't broken. He's still there."

Oralie sensed a "but" coming after that.

"But- for some odd reason, Kenric's mind seems to fixated on this specific memory. Everything else is blocked off. I seems like Kenric can't think or look at other memories."

Emery turned to face the rest of the Council, then back at Oralie. "What happened?"

-------------

The entire Council sat in their group meeting room, all except for Kenric.

"We were talking about the planted memories, then suddenly, Kenric looked like he was hit with a revelation." Oralie said, recalling the moment.

"He fell backwards onto the chair, and I was horrified. I had no clue what happened." Oralie shuddered, "The most important thing to note, was how Kenric was mumbling a bunch of random words. I was reading his emotions, and they were all very strange. His emotions changed from one to the other, I could barely keep up."

The Council members started mumbling to each other, talking about theories on what could've happened.

Finally, Bronte spoke out. "Do you remember what words Kenric was mumbling?" He asked Oralie.

She nodded, then thought for a bit. "I distinctly remember when Kenric was feeling triumphant, he was saying the word timeline."

"His emotions got more excited, and I heard him saying the word plan, over and over."
