Kenric's POV:

He gasped and jerked up, to find he was in a cot.

"WHERE IS FINTAN!?!?" He shouted, and all the heads in the room turned around.

The entire Council and the Black Swan, basically everyone who was there when Fintan blasted a fireball at him.

"Its okay, you're safe now. We've arrested Fintan." Oralie said calmly, holding his hand.

Seeing her made him calm down, but he still felt an urgent, throbbing feeling of panic waving through him.

"Relax Kenric, you're hyperventilating." Oralie said, sending a cool breeze.

"Ugh- I hate this. I'm going to get up Ora." He said, and Oralie let go of his hand.

His body was sore and aching, screaming at him to lie back down in bed.

"Where is Fintan?" He said, his voice hoarse from who knows what elixir.

"Councillor Kenric, respectfully, you are in no shape to walk, you are severely injured. I'm actually very surprised you're walking right now." Elwin says while flashing light orbs around him.

"Well I'm walking just fine, aren't I?" Kenric flashed his winning smile, but realized he was limping.

"Why is it so urgent that you must see Fintan?" Emery asked with suspision. "What did he say to you before he attacked you?"

"I-" Kenric sighed, "It's not my secret to share."

He opened the door, leading into a large hallway.

"Okay, no, you are not going any further Kenric, even though I admire your determination, but you're going to have to tell us why you want to see Fintan." Councillor Terik said, crossing his arms.

Kenric growled in frustration, which raised some eyebrows. He had recently been getting restless and annoyed more easily.

Oralie caught Kenric's gaze, almost as if she was saying, Calm down Kenric, it's going to be okay.

Kenric relaxed a bit, "The battle isn't over. Fintan was going back to the Neverseen to concoct a new plan before you caught him."

"Wait what? What do you mean, the Neverseen? Didn't we catch them all?" Sophie Foster said, stepping out from the crowd.

"I need to speak to Fintan-" Kenric said, jogging down the hallway, the others trailing behind.

"Stop! We need to plan, Kenric, you're not going alone, we need to decide who is going and when. We can't do it now, because obviously Fintan is going to be angry and won't cooperate with whatever Kenric wants to do with him and-"

"NO! PLEASE NO!" Kenric shouted, cutting Emery off and covered his mouth in surprise. These random outbursts were getting randomer and randomer.

"Sorry Emery, but there's no time to plan. I need to talk to Fintan, alone, now. I need to talk to him about uh- the topic before he forgets about it..." Kenric said, shaking.

"How will he forget about it?" Fitz said in the corner, confused.

"He's uh- moping?" Kenric guessed, which was probably true. Fintan was most likely lying on the ground crying about his lost love and his horrible path.

Honestly, Kenric would do the same if he was in his place.

Wait, why was he even thinking about being in Fintan's place- he wouldn't be and shouldn't be.

"Just- please, tell me where he is and how to get there. And if you force someone to come with me, I'll talk to him telepathically." Kenric insisted, putting his persuasive voice on.

Oralie tossed him a crystal. "He's being held there."

Kenric quickly used the crystal and stepped into the light as everyone else started yelling at Oralie.

He looked at Ora one more time before he faded away and blew her a kiss. She smiled.

Oralie's POV:

"Councillor Oralie?!!? Why on earth would you do that? Who knows what Kenric wants to do with Fintan!?"

"What if Kenric gets hurt because of you!?"

"Why would you do that!?"

"That was a very rash decision!"

"You should've consulted the rest of us first before making the decision on your own!!"

Shouts came from everywhere, but it didn't faze her.

"I gave him the crystal because I was reading his emotions." Oralie said calmly, the rest of the Council surprised.

"How from that far away!!?" Fitz asked

"It's possible. Keefe has done the same with me." Sophie said, standing next to him.

"And how is that!?" Fitz interoggated.

"I don't know honestly, I guess he's just a super strong Empath, like Councillor Oralie." Sophie said honestly, a little tint of pink showing on her face.

Mr. Forkle had a little glint in his eye.

"What about his emotions?" Mr. Forkle said, curious.

"He was really panicked, and he also said everything rushed. Usually Kenric isn't that panicked, but when he is, it always turned out to be a situation worth noting." Oralie said.

"Yeah, I wonder how and why. Recently, his personality has been a bit different." Sophie noted, and everyone had a moment of silence.

Oralie looked at the ground with a bit of sadness.

"I do think he had a really good reason to see Fintan, and I would trust him on it. If he insists that it would be better for him to see him alone, then I think it would be better for him to see Fintan alone." She said.

The rest of the group nodded along.

"Do you think he talked to Fintan a bit before he got attacked?" Councillor Bronte said softly, pondering the possiblity.

Murmurs went around the group.

"Yes. Yes I do." Oralie said. "But I think he had a good reason for it. I think we need to trust him on this one."

"You better be right Oralie. If we find out that Kenric has been hurt emotionally or physically..." Councillor Emery said, trailing off.

"I know. But I think he already has." Oralie said sadly, and the group stood in silence, knowing it was true.
